Before I left, I asked Lady Dumee and Lord Sadhonker to watch over my lair here and to be totally honest, they did a crappy job. The floors are clean, my minions are behaving, my prisoners are treated well and worst of all: THEY REDECORATED! All this modern stuff... blegh! So, it's about time for some home improvement.

Well, as you may have read in my last review, I moved back from my exotic lair in Greece to my old damp lair, right here in the Netherlands.

Now, I just had to go out and get some new weapons, furs, mead, armor, the works. I just wanted to get some inspiration for new monsters and, overall, just get that old nostalgic dark-ages feel back. Luckily, twice a year, there's a gathering called Elfia. I went to Elfia Haarzuilen for the first time in my life and, well, I wasn't disappointed.

Elfia is a outdoor convention that has a special theme every year. No matter what yearly theme they come up with, their main theme has always been fantasy, so elves, dwarves, barbarians, wizards, princes and princesses galore. The castle environment, the outdoor setting, the gardens and the forest all give off that good old fantasy vibe and its filled with special workshops, lectures and special guests; it was absolutely wonderful.

They had so much cool and lovely stuff for my lair interior and the best part is that you can't buy this stuff in just any old store. They sell handmade armor, weapons, statues, books, board games and a lot of various handmade items (I bought 2 handmade REAL leather-bound notebooks for writing down all my evil plans). I walked around for like 8 hours and I still had the feeling that I missed a lot of stuff. The downside of all this outdoor stuff is the weather, it wasn't the best weather when I went, but good thing is that you can warm yourself up with some nice, strong, warm mead.

If you like conventions, fantasy, like the outdoor, looking for some home deco, a new suite of armor or some badass weaponry. Go to the Elfia, its fun, its healthy and, incidentally, if you're into cosplay it's a great location for pictures!

Now, if you will excuse; me I have to yell at my minions and get ready for my next board game review so as always, goodbye and have fun... now, where did I put my punisher mace?
