How cool is it to be able to play the Nintendo games we saw during the E3? Very cool of course, so I don't think I need to explain that I replied "Yes!" very enthusiastically when I received my invitation to the Nintendo Post E3 Press Event on July 27, 2018 in Utrecht, The Netherlands!

During this presentation, a selection of games was showcased which, incidentally, will all be released in 2018. First thing on the agenda was a presentation of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Super Mario Party. After that, I got the chance to play some great Nintendo game during the hands-on session. So buckle up and join me on this amazing and colorful Nintendo ride!

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee
A new Pokemon game is right around the corner: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee! Let's start off with the most awesome feature of said game; the Pokémon Plus accessory. It's a Pokéball which you can use like a true Pokémon trainer. There are two main things that you will be doing in this game: catching Pokémon, which is inspired by the well known Pokémon Go game and battling other trainers, which is inspired by the traditional Pokémon games. During your travels, your partner Pokémon (Pikachu or Eevee) will give you a sign when there is a secret nearby. In this presentation, Pikachu is your partner Pokémon and he will waggle his tail. You can select any Pokémon in your party to be your travel companion. When the game started it occurred to me, how much this game has the look and feel of the tv series. The Pokéball Plus accessory is optional, but this item is also useable with Pokémon Go. It basically replaces the Pokémon Go watch. The game also offers a co-op mode and lets you transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Go to the Let's Go version. The Pokéball accessory works awesome, it feels like you literally have to throw balls at the Pokémon. I think it's safe to say that the next Pokémon hype is coming our way! Pokémon Let's go will be released in November 16, 2018.

Super Mario Party
I'm a sucker for the Mario Party games. I love the boards, the funny stuff the characters do and the awesome mini games. This upcoming installment offers eighty mini games in various modes. Up to four players can join the game. Each character like Mario, Peach and Bowser can roll a standard die or use their character-specific dice. The standard die is 1 till 6, but the specific dice might contain, for example, 0-0-7-7-7 on its sides. This latest Mario Party game will also let you play in teams. Your team's rolls will be added up and then both players can walk that amount of spaces. Other characters can enter the game and when you befriend them, you can use their special dice as well. After every round, it's mini game time! The tutorial of each mini game is shown before the mini game actually starts and during the tutorial you can already try out the controls. We saw a couple of mini games and I already have a favorite: Paparazzi! All players are in a circle around which a couple of camera points are located. A Koopa with a camera will appear at a certain camera point. It's up to you to make sure you're the one who is in the picture! Can you imagine playing this with your friends? I think chaos and hilarity is guaranteed! A great Nintendo Switch feature is to connect and combine two Switch screens to create one bigger screen. This way you can complete the image of bananas during the aptly named game: Bananas. Or create a unique battlefield where all players can shoot each other with tanks! Super Mario Party is set to be released on October 5, 2018.

Overcooked 2
Ever since I saw the presentation of this game during E3, I was so looking forward to try Overcooked 2. It looked awesomely chaotic and the people playing it had so much fun! And trust me, I'm always up for having fun! Lucky for me, Overcooked 2 was also playable during this Nintendo event. Up to four players can join in and the goal is to prepare different kind of meals, like: a salad, a hamburger or even sushi. On the game's world map, you'll drive a food truck to different locations so you can cook the most delicious dishes. The location are very cool, we even cooked in a hot air balloon! Every location has new dishes to try and you can score points with every dish you manage to get out of your kitchen succesfully. At the end of every mission, your points will earn you stars with a maximum of three. But anything can happen in this overcooked kitchen, which definitely spices things up. So you can probably guess that communication is the key to success in this frantic game of culinary chaos! Overcooked 2 will be released on August 7, 2018

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
To be honest, I never played Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, but with the game's upcoming release for the Nintendo Switch, I thought it was about time to take my chances on this great adventure. And let me tell you; I'm very happy I did! The Nintendo Switch version offers the same levels as the Wii U version of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, but new levels will be added to this version, plus it will offer you the chance to play the game in (couch) co-op mode. How cool is that? I've played a couple of levels, each of which contains a plethora of collectibles and challenges. For example, a level might contain three diamonds, a gold star and the challenge to defeat all enemies. I don't know why, but I really wanted to complete each level's challenges and collect every collectible. So the levels themselves may be a bit on the short side, but if you want to complete every one of them 100%, it will definitely take more time. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker will be released on July 13, 2018.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
A brand new fighting game in the Super Smash universe is coming our way! Super Smash Bros Ultimate lets you choose from a huge roster of sixty characters, including but nowhere near limited to: Kirby, Bayonetta and even Pac-Man. The arenas you can fight in are also very familiar environments for the Nintendo veterans among us. During the press presentation it was possible to play the game with Joy Cons, with a Switch controller and even the GameCube controllers (the ones you could also connect to the Wii U). I played a total four rounds and, sadly, I have to tell you I didn't win any of them. But, in my defense, my opponent was one of the Nintendo team members, so I am not ashamed that I lost. And although I didn't win, it was really awesome to get a taste of this amazing Super Smash Bros game! Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be released on December 7, 2018.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
At the beginning of 2018 we could all play Monster Hunter World. Now a new Monster Hunter game is presented by Nintendo and Capcom. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a mission driven game. When you start the game, you will enter a village and its world is hunted by monsters. It's up to you make the world a safe place again. Every mission has a different kind of monster and you have to make the most out of your abilities to defeat them. Also keep an eye out for the time you have for this mission, because if you run out of time it's over and out and you have to start all over again. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will release August 28, 2018.

I had a great day and I am really looking forward to playing these amazing games in the comfort of my own home, later this year! The games I've played during this presentation made me even more stoked for the second half of 2018, because Nintendo has some awesome stuff in store for us!
