At least, I have played many version, such as Star Wars, Rio, Space and even the race-version Go. They even have a movie about it now. Just from reading this, you should know what Iím talking about by now. Yes, the birds are still angry at the pigs because they stole their eggs. This month I will be reviewing Angry Birds 2, which came out on July 30, 2015. The makers finally just did an improved version of the original one instead of doing fancy different versions, which might be fun, but the original game is still just a bit better.

We have all played it. No, donít you even think of denying it, because itís true. Maybe even more than one version of it. At least, I have played many version, such as Star Wars, Rio, Space and even the race-version Go. They even have a movie about it now. Just from reading this, you should know what Iím talking about by now. Yes, the birds are still angry at the pigs because they stole their eggs. I guess I donít have to explain the purpose of the game. As the name mentions there are some angry birds. Why? Because the pigs stole their eggs. I must be honest here; pigs with eggs are not that bad. I mean, who doesnít love their eggs better with a good piece of bacon... mmmmmmm, bacon... Okay, okay, back to the game; I will eat after writing this review.

So what has changed since the original version? It looks like they just watched many good games and took the best of all of them. As with many games nowadays you have a map with a pathway. Each level is represented by a stepping stone on the path. And along the way the levels get more difficult. But that is not all what they took from other games. One thing makes me think about a classic Mario game, please donít ask which of the zillion Mario games out there, but it does. Because, instead of peach going from castle to castle, the birdsí eggs are snatched away by a new boss pig in his zeppelin just when youíve eliminated the previous boss pig. So you have to move along the pathway towards the next "castle".

But okay, steali... ehm, I mean BORROWING things from proven concepts is not bad at all, and whatís more: I like it! As a matter of fact, I think a lot you guys might like it as well. And that is not where the changes to the Angry Birds franchise stop. There are more changes yet to come, all in a good way. The most logical thing that has improved are the graphics, which is kind of logical; it would be bad if they hadnít changed at all, seeing as how the first Angry Birds game was released in 2010. So nothing out of the ordinary there. However, that is not all; the game has become more than just bombarding the pigs to turn them into smoked bacon... mmmmmm, bacon... Damn, focus. Focus!

The basic idea is pretty much the same; youíll have a catapult and a number of birds who are willing to risk their lives in order to save the eggs. So what is different? In Angry Birds 2, you must/can collect additional birds by destroying the structures of the pigs and the pigs themselves. When you have a certain number of points you get an extra card which resembles a bird. Having more birds gives you more chances to destroy the pigs. Besides getting more birds, your birds get stronger; you just have to stab some feathers in their butt. The more feathers, the stronger the bird becomes. The feathers can be collected throughout the levels and as daily bonuses. This all sounds really great, but wait; Thereís more! Angry Birds 2 features something way better: a fast forward button. Once youíve destroyed all the pigs, you can tap this button and you will fast forward to the next level. You donít have to wait until the birds do their happy dance, which might make some people kind of sad, but it speeds things up significantly.

So, time for the overall verdict. After maybe a few too many spinoffs, Rovio finally made an Angry Birds 2. It is a new and improved version of the original game, launched so many, many years ago. The graphics are great, the new improvements are nice. It does, however, have one major disadvantage; the game is big, as in many Mbís, and my phone may be a bit too old to run it fast enough. This can hardly be said to be the gameís fault, so maybe I should buy a new phone. But first... BACON!!!
