Jack is a lovely small dog who is absolutely crazy about bones. All day long, he's just running and running, preferably after a truck that is losing a shitload of (dinosaur)bones on its way. In this never-ending game you play as the aforementioned cute little furball and need to make your way past and across loads of obstacles in order to gather as many bones as your little legs can carry.

The game is easy to understand but hard to get a hang of. You have to jump over obstacles, bark at enemies (like insects and piranhas), or sprint through certain boxes to discover the hidden treasures inside. By clicking on the bottom left corner of you screen Jack will bark to eliminate enemies, and when you tap the right bottom of the screen he will jump across obstacles. You really need to be fast and agile to jump and bark at the right time. When you are hit by an insects or run into an obstacle your health will go down, so be careful where you run!

Oh by the way, I was always taught that cats hated water and dogs love it. Well, apparently dogs also hate water, or at least Jack does. Every time he runs through a pond, his health goes down. In theory, you'll have to jump from lily to lily to make it across. But trust me when I say that this feat is just impossible... really... I've tried... numerous times. So my advice to everyone of you would be: try to stay as far away from water as possible. This can be done by jumping to higher areas in the trees you find. Don't think for a second that this will provide you with total safety. When making your way through the trees, you should watch out for insects that are looking to harm you.

As time goes by, the jumps you'll have to make become increasingly difficult to execute. And if that wasn't enough trouble, your enemies become stronger. On the upside; the more bones you collect, the stronger you can make Jack. This is done by acquiring upgrades: you can make his barks stronger or make him jump better. You pay for these upgrades with the bones you've collected so far, which, if you think about it, isn't fair at all. I mean, come on. Poor Jack is running his waggly behind off, only to see all his bones go down the proverbial drain... but that's beside the point. You can also dress Jack up with cute helmets or capes. This just looks nice but doesn’t really have added value.

Overall it is a okay game but not as main game to have on your device. It is nice to play once or twice but for me it is not a game I can spend hours playing. For me, the biggest down side to this game is that it is endless. There are no levels, no breaks, you just keep running and aiming to improve your score every time. It's because this lack of structure I that the game get's repetitive very easily. I did play it a few times, but I don't see myself playing it a lot. It is nice to have Dino & Jack on your cell phone as a small game to pass the time with, whenever you get tired of building villages or maintaining a farm. In all honesty, I would have liked it better if you could progress through the game by completing new and more complex levels. But hey, if your into this kind of games, don't let my opinion stop you from giving it a try!
