This game studio is well known because of the Witcher series. They’ve worked very hard to finish The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is scheduled for Februari 25, 2015. At GamesCom they presented this game and we from DumeeGamer were present and accounted for. After the presentation we had an interview with Michal Stec about this upcoming game.

We have to admit that when we saw the first screens of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt our jaws dropped. It looks stunning, notwithstanding the fact that this game is still a work in progress at this moment.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an open world, story driven RPG. There is no good or bad, but your choices have consequences. Even the weather can be influenced by your decisions.

The combat system has massively improved in comparison to Wild Hunt’s predecessor. Fighting is tactical and you can use your powers in various ways. You have to do your homework and know the weaknesses of your enemies. This can substantially work to your advantage.

The game has a 24 hours cycle, which influences you and others around you. People in villages will be more suspicious during the night. Some enemies will be stronger during the day, while others might have a substantial advantage at night. It’s good to be aware of this, before you go into battle.

Because of the open world character of this game it possible to do anything you like, even if you want to travel. You can travel by foot, boat, horse or swim. Swim? Yes, swim! Gerald has learned a few new tricks along the way, two of which are swimming and jumping! That will definitely make a welcome change from traditional RPG games. But back to the traveling. There are a few things you will have to take in account while planning your journey. For instance, it’s a good thing to be aware of the weather before you make your decision. Is it really smart to travel by boat, when there’s a storm brewing?

The last question we asked Michal Stec was an obvious one, but it needed asking; Why we should all buy this game?

“Because is the best RPG of next year. There’s so much to explore and the game is full of adventure.”

Of course, this is something everyone tends to say about their own games, but after seeing the presentation, we are inclined to agree with Mr. Stec.

After the there was also the possibility to play The Witcher: Battle Arena, a neat moba game for you phone or tablet. An exciting adventure with short and intense matches especially designed for your mobile device. The best thing about this game is that everything is unlockable for free. When this bit of news reached our ears, we asked Taddeusz Zielinski, one of the developers of The Witcher: Battle Arena, who had this to say: “The thing we aimed not to have in this game is a buy to win system. Our players will have to earn their merits through battle and experience, not through their wallets”. And Mr. Zielinski, may we say that was exactly what we hoped to hear! The Witcher: Battle Arena will be available later this year in all its battle-crazed glory.
