Strolling across the fairground of Spellenspektakel, I ran into Hans, the owner and founder of game publisher The Game Master. Hans is someone with such a creative brain, that he has ten new ideas for board games before lunch time. So let's see what he came up with up till now.

Their promise to the world is to make games for everyone to enjoy and when you enter their website for example, you can immediately see that this is exactly what they are doing. On their website, you can choose the categories: kids, family and experts, so they really have a game for everyone.

During Spellenspektakel, I had the honour to play their new game Story Makers. This game was launched last September. It's a co-operative game in which the players can make their own story. You lay down four cards with three or four words on them. One player chooses one word off of each card and makes a little story with it, but he or she doesn't share the story with the other players. The other players need to guess the four words the first player chose. Before they start guessing you can place a bet on how many turns it will take you to guess what the first player made up. The amount of rounds you need to guess the right story can offer use some points. These points are used as steps to move your pawn needs to go from 0 to tile 33. You can play this game up to 10 players and if you like you can play a team variant, that's like a team vs team mode.

The second game I played is called Stier zoekt Bier (translated it means "Bull searches for Beer"). It's a game in which you'll have to collect different kinds of beers. Each beer attracts another type of bull, because every bull has another kind of beer he really likes. Also, each bull needs a certain amount of beers to have a good time, a great time, an awesome time or an excellent time. The better the mood of the bull is, the more points you score. At the end of the game, the bartender with the most points is the winner. But collecting the beers is not as easy as just placing an order at the local brewery. It's all about strategy and thinking ahead or you might have a lot of beer and no bulls in your café. And you don't want that, am I right?

Another great feature I found on their website is the possibility to let them create a game for companies as a promotional item or as a gift for employees or even to use for training purposes. You can even order their games, with your own company's logo printed on them. How cool is that? So, whether you want to buy their games or design one of your own, The Game Master is the place to be!
