SPIEL 2018: GAMELYN GAMES

Gamelyn Games, the creators of the Tiny Epic game series, was making the trip to Spiel with their new game Tiny Epic Zombies and an expansion for Tiny Epic Defenders called The Dark War. Eager to get myself a copy of Tiny Epic Zombies, I went to their booth to get all the information about their games on the first day of Spiel.

I was told the first batch of Tiny Epic Zombies should be arriving somewhere in the afternoon. So, in the meantime, Nathan explained me all about some of the other Tiny Epic games they had available. We also had a chat about their latest successful Kickstarter campaign for Tiny Epic Mechs. They had the game them and it was displayed at their booth. In Tiny Epic Mechs they've surpassed their invention of ITEMeeples, by giving the little fellows fancy-pancy looking Mech suits! Battles are fast and the more weapons you have the more damage you can do. Sounds simple and legit, so they have my attention, even more because those tiny ITEMeeples love the camera.

Of course, my attention was drawn to the beautiful displayed miniatures on top of a box of Heroes of Land, Air and Sea belonging to the game that bears the same title. The painted miniatures are an add-on to the game and I must say that they look very nice and, being the conscientious photographer I am, I just had to take a few quick shots. Just check the photo in this report and see the result for yourself. Now talk amongst yourselves for a while, because I just have to see if the pledge manager for this cool set is still open.

Too bad for Gamelyn Games, the delivery of Tiny Epic Zombies arrived at such a late time, they had to postpone giving out the game until the next day; the second day of Spiel. For me personally, it wasn't a problem to come back the next day; it was mostly a setback for the team themselves, as they had been anxiously awaiting the game's arrival. To soften the blow, I picked up a copy of Tiny Epic Quest together with Tiny Epic Zombies the next day.

Gamelyn Games is possibly bringing another Tiny game to Kickstarter in January next year, but that is really all I know. As for the near future, you can expect a full review about Tiny Epic Zombies and Tiny Epic Quest, while I am waiting for my Heroes of Land, Air and Sea Kickstarter edition to arrive, maybe even with painted miniatures!
