INTRUDERS: HIDE AND SEEK
I love technology, and virtual reality does make my nerdy senses tingle! Ever since I can remember, I have love these gadgets. I am also usually one of the first to go to new horror movies, and I accept the challenge of playing a lot of games in order to see if they can actually scare me. Yes, I get spooked and I have jump-scares but feeling really scared...? No, not really, to be honest. Let's see if this game will scare me, shall we?
RESIDENT EVIL 2
Friday, January 25, 2019 marked the arrival of a game that a lot of us horror game enthusiasts have been anxiously waiting for! We had to wait for a long, long, looooong time, but finally the Resident Evil 2 remake was released! But does this remake do the original game (which was arguably one of the best in the Resident Evil series) justice, or is the hype bigger than the game itself? Well, gather your bullets and your green herbs and get ready for a trip into horror survival darkness!
DIABLO III: THE ETERNAL COLLECTION (NINTENDO SWITCH)
Before I start, I have a confession to make; I didn't start playing Diablo until Diablo III was first released in May of 2012. My husband Ferry "Sadhonker" Adams, on the other hand, did play Diablo 1 & 2, including all expansions and was so looking forward to this game. But I didn't know it, didn't much care about it; until, that is, I saw Ferry actually play it...
CALL OF CTHULHU
1924, Boston, Massachusetts. I have just awoken from a terrible nightmare. Blearily, I look around my office... my office... why do I even have an office anymore? It's not like the cases are flooding in. No interesting cases, at any rate. Memories of the Great War still haunt my every waking moment, and now even my sleep is being torn apart by horrific images and dark dreams. But where are my manners? Please allow me to introduce myself; I am Edward Pierce, private investigator. Or, at least, I would be if I could just get an interesting case...
LUST FOR DARKNESS
I always love a good horror game, so when, during my visit to Gamescom 2018, I came across the booth of a Polish developer called Moviegames and saw a poster for a game called Lust for Darkness, I just couldn't resist. They were actually showing two games during Gamescom; the Beast inside and Lust for Darkness, but it is the latter of the two that we're going to talk about.
It's summer, so one of the last things on your mind would probably be Christmas. But did you know that fashion designers, food chefs and party planners are already making their first preparations for this most wonderful time of the year?! Coincidentally, Gray Dawn, a religious horror game by Iasi, Romania based independent developer Interactive Stone, starts on Christmas Eve. Now, this is my kind of preparation for the season to be jolly!
Getting funded by a Kickstarter campaign and being featured often in top horror game lists from around the world. Sounds too good to be true? Well, it is true! For a game called Agony, this is nothing but the god-honest truth! And, with this game's full release on May 29th, it's about time to check it, wouldn't you agree?
A towel isn't that much of a threat right? Well, after witnessing a towel come floating towards you in a very menacing way, I think you're going to see this everyday-object quite differently. And no, I'm not suffering from delusions; I really was attacked by a ghost of the towel-y persuasion, all while playing a game called Infernium.
RESIDENT EVIL 7: THE DLC
Somewhere this time last year, I was so looking forward to the release of Resident Evil 7 on January 24. And although I had to get over the fact that my beloved Resident Evil series chose to create a game in first person perspective instead of third person and I didn't get to play as someone familiar from the Resident Evil family, I sure got a good introduction to this new family the Bakers and I simply love Ethan. So I can only say that I'm still a big fan!
Today, we're inheriting a Scottish castle! Isn't that nice?! Sure, somebody has to die for you to inherit anything; it's kind of how this thing works, isn't it? In this case, it is our father that has kicked the proverbial bucket. Now, we didn't actually have a very loving relationship with the man over the years, so we're off to Scotland to sign the inheritance papers. And this is exactly where things go haggis-shaped really, really fast!
UNTIL DAWN: RUSH OF BLOOD
Alright! alright! coming through! Make way, Doctor coming through you scaredy cats! Until Dawn: Rush of Blood... now doesn't that sound... exciting?! Another VR game in the free section of PsPlus+. And I mean come on; we all know how much I love horror...
THE EVIL WITHIN 2
Some people just can't seem to get a break... ever! Sebastian Castellanos is one of those unlucky people. Three years after his horrendous experiences at the Beacon mental hospital, he has lost everything; his daughter, his wife, his job... everything! But, through a twist of fate, Sebastian is once again forced to enter the STEM world and face the horrors within...
October 2017 brings something scary to the PS Plus lineup! Luckily for us, our brave Rick "Herr Doktor von Brienenstein" van Brienen felt the need to immerse himself into this strange and scary world. Now, if we just could get him to come out from under the bed, that would be really swell!
RESIDENT EVIL: REVELATIONS (2017)
I don't know if it is because I grew up on and around a ship, but every time I see a big cruise ship I can't help but feeling that I want to take a cruise sometimes. But what's this? My next game adventure is on one of those amazing luxury cruise ships? Woohoo!
NO70: EYE OF BASIR
And we're back for another round of playing creepy and eerie games. This time, I just couldn't resist getting "hands-on" with No70: Eye of Basir. I put hands-on between double quotation marks because, by the time the game was fully downloaded and installed, I already had handed over the controller to Ferry 'Sadhonker' Adams and retreated to my pillow-and-blanket fortress, because I was too afraid to play! So I will review this game from the safety of said fortress, while Ferry is doing the scary work.
CONARIUM (FULL GAME)
Last week, I told you all about the preview version of Conarium. But after the release of the full version of this cool action/adventure game on June 6, I thought it was time to tell you more about it. So let's get ready for another round of even more eerie Lovecraftian adventure!
Have you ever read a book by H.P. Lovecraft? He wrote a couple of well known horror-scifi stories like the Call of Cthulhu and At the Mountains of Madness, the latter of which was just the inspiration for the people of Zoetrope Interactive needed for their upcoming game, Conarium!
Have you ever felt lost? Have you ever felt like you had no clue what you have to do and the environment is more scarier then in your worst nightmares? Prepare yourself for this very uncomfortable feeling, if you're brave enough to play Inner Chains!
I'm sure we all had nightmares as a kid. Hell, some (if not most) of us still do from time to time! For Six, a hungry little girl of only nine years old, the nightmares are all too real and, even worse, hell-bent on getting their grubby, creepy, long-fingered hands on her! Join us as we descend into the Maw; a truly creepy, over-sized looking place, inhabited by quite a few twisted, nightmarish individuals.
"I still have fond memories of Resident Evil Outbreak. Since major publishers seem to no longer be interested in making that sort of game, I decided to make one myself," says Evan Wolbach, founder of Dead Drop Studios. "With only one life, hardcore difficulty, no pauses and limited inventory, Outbreak brings back the authentic survival horror experience fans like me have been waiting for." Following this bold statement we, here at DumeeGamer.com, thought it was about to have a look at this game. So here it is, whithout further ado: Outbreak!
RESIDENT EVIL 7: BIOHAZARD
With all the news, trailers, demos and, let's not forget about them, play-throughs in which gamers were screaming and almost crying, I was getting a bit concerned about Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Is it hyped? Would it live up to the expectations it created? Is it really the new game in the series that brings us back to the roots of what is Resident Evil? How will the first person perspective work out for a game which has always been in third person perspective? Well, last weekend Ferry "Sadhonker" Adams built me a pillow fort and we were good to go and get answers to all these questions.
LEFT 4 DEAD
There are those games that you desperately wish they would make a sequel of. Sometimes, this wish actually comes true (here's looking at you, Shenmue III). Sometimes, however, it remains as elusive as girls seemed to be, back when I was 16. This could have something to do with me just being a bit awkward around people of the female persuasion back then, but we're deviating from the point here. Point is, there are games out there that you just know deserve a sequel, and you're sure that sequel would do well on all accounts. There's only one problem... no one seems to be interested in making the damn thing!
THROUGH THE WOODS
Halloween is coming! And have I got a great tip for you on how to spend this spookiest of holidays! Just snuggle up on the couch, turn off the lights and play the brand new PC game, developed by Norwegian indie game studio Antagonist and published by 1C Publishing: Through the Woods.
IN FEAR I TRUST (PC)
I don't know about you guys, but waking up in a grimy prison cell with no recollection who you are or how you got there is not something that is on my bucket list. This, however, is exactly what happens to Nikolay, the protagonist of the psychological suspense thriller game In Fear I Trust. Can he unravel the mysteriies of his past and escape to freedom? Let's find out!
RESIDENT EVIL 4 REMASTER
It's always tough to be the president's daughter; there's never a moment when you're not in the spotlight and people will want to know what you're doing every damn second of the day. On top of that, you have very little health, you just can't seem to climb down ladders or jump down from ledges or, for that matter, do anything else that cringe and cry when someone comes at you. And, oh yes, sinister cults from an unspecified rural part of Spain will want to kidnap you and take you to their secret castle hideout...
First day of school, first day of school, first day of school! Some kids are excited, others a bit scared. Whatever the case may be, the first day of school is one to remember. The first time you're really away from your parents, you have to listen to a strange adult called a teacher and if you're lucky, you make some new friends.
LAYERS OF FEAR: INHERITANCE
Remember how Layers of Fear scared the hell out of me last February? What would I do if the awesome people of Bloober Team came up with an expansion for this game? Would I play it or would I sit down in a corner and cry? Of course I would play it! So I went back to my pillow castle and prepared myself for round two of this grizzly horror tale with Layers of Fear: Inheritance!
AMONG THE SLEEP
Do you remember how scary it could be to go to sleep when you were a child? Seeing monsters in the shadows at night, afraid of the monster under your bed? And did you just hear someone in your closet?
RESIDENT EVIL 7 DEMO
Last weekend was the single most scary weekend I’d had since a long time. Not only did I get chased by hordes of zombies around a tropical island in the remastered editions of the Dead Island games, but I also screamed my way through the new Resident Evil 7 demo, which is a PS Plus exclusive. I guess it pays off to be a PS Plus member, right?
DEAD ISLAND: DEFINITIVE COLLECTION
What’s better than having Dead Island or Dead Island: Riptide in your game collection? That’s easy: to have them both! Last week, the moment had finally arrived; the Dead Island Definitive Edition, along with the Dead Island Definitive Collection was released. In this review, I’m going to talk about the Collection, which contains not only Dead Island Definitive Edition, but also the Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition, as well as a third game called Dead Island Retro Revenge. That’s three fantastic games in one awesome package!
What could be better than to spend your day off at a theme park, together with your young son? Well, to be totally honest; spending your day off at a themepark WITHOUT your young son does sound a hell of a lot better, but that might just be me. In any case, most people associate theme parks with fun and laughter, but playing The Park might just make you change your mind...
LAYERS OF FEAR
Okay, I think I won’t be able to sleep a wink for the next three days. If you hear someone scream like a baby, it might just be me because I’ve just finished the self-proclaimed “psychedelic horror" game Layers of Fear by Bloober Team and Aspyr. And I must say that if it’s horror you want, it’s horror you’ll get!
DYING LIGHT: THE FOLLOWING
What is that I hear? Is it a zombie? Or is it a large group of zombies? Damn, where’s my flashlight? Or better yet, my new found crossbow! Ok you undead zombie scum; I'm ready when you are... Come get some!

When eight friends are trapped on a remote mountain retreat and things quickly turn sinister, they start to suspect they aren’t alone... It is finally time to play this long-awaited horror game for ourselves. And man, are we excited!
Zombi... What can we say about Zombi? Well, for one thing, it's a 1978 movie, written by George A. Romero and Dario Argento, but that's beside the point right now. What is important is the fact that it is the new iteration of one the Wii U's launch titles: ZombiU!
SLENDER: THE ARRIVAL
So here we are, on our way to our friend Kate's house. The road is blocked so we have to continue on foot. Only a few minutes later we arrive at her accommodation. While night is casting it's darkness overhead we open the front door, which was already slightly ajar when we arrived at the scene...
RESIDENT EVIL: REVELATIONS 2 - RETAIL VERSION
After reading DumeeGamer's Kevin "Methodone89" van Dongen's reviews of the first three episodes of the all new Resident Evil: Revelations 2 game, Diana got curious and decided to give the retail version a try. With all four episodes on one disc, it was a veritable zombie buffet!
RESIDENT EVIL: REVELATIONS 2 - EPISODE 4

Last week we witnessed the birth of a new chapter in Resident Evil history, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 - Episode 1 (Penal Colony). This week, we pick up from where we left the four protagonists at the end of the season premiere. It's time for Episode 2: Contemplation...
RESIDENT EVIL: REVELATIONS 2 - EPISODE 1
Finally! A new Resident Evil is released, and it’s a good one! 2012’s Resident Evil: Revelations was a handheld game and therefore had its limitations. The PS3 and Xbox360 port was more than a good game, but still a port. Join Claire Redfield and Barry Burton in their journey for survival, as we take a look at Resident Evil: Revelations 2 - Episode 1.
DECAY: THE MARE
Another fine release from our friends at Shining Gate Software and Daedalic Entertainment. You play as Sam, a drug addict, trying to rid himself from his addiction. But instead of useful therapy, Sam is all of a sudden trapped in a neverending nightmare...
RESIDENT EVIL HD REMASTER
We could give you any number of reasons why we are really excited about this HD remake, but Capcom says it better than we ever could: "Don't worry, we made sure not to change anything that made the original the classic that it is. You don't mess with a masterpiece, after all."
Let's turn of the lights, shut down our phones and enter the house that we will soon get to know (and fear) as Kraven Manor. This indie horror survival game will knock your socks off. Just play it... we dare you!
THE EVIL WITHIN
Halloween is drawing nearer by the second, so it's time for a horror game. And as luck would have it, Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have just the thing: The Evil Within.
THE LAST OF US - REMASTERED
I planned each chartered course
Each careful step along the by-way
And more, much more than this
I did it Joel's way...
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Frank Sinatra! (You need an epic artist to introduce such an epic game)
You wake up alone in a dark and damp dungeon cell... great, that’s really how I want to start a Monday morning. You might or might not find this idea appealing, but it’s the beginning of the new indie game called Tiny Keep!
DIABLO III: ULTIMATE EVIL EDITION
Can I have some Ultimate Evil in a box, please?
MURDERED: SOUL SUSPECT
It’s Patrick Swayze in Ghost all over again (luckily, not quite as mushy this time). Time to solve your own murder, time for Murdered: Soul Suspect.
DIABLO III: REAPER OF SOULS
Being the long awaited expansion for Diablo III, Reaper of Souls continues where Diablo left off. Has it been worth the wait, or are we in for a diabolical disappointment?
Dementium II is a first person horror game, released for Nintendo DS in 2010. Now, in 2013, it's back for PC. Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with the horror genre. I love to be scared by a game and yet I hate it because at night I can't sleep after playing one of these games.
Have you ever played the game that single handedly launched the interactive-movie-psychological-horror-point-and-click-adventure-game genre? What genre, I hear you say? You just watch...and learn. Let's play Phantasmagoria!
