UK GAME EXPO 2020
It's the year 2020 and we are all facing a global pandemic. Unfortunately, this caused all the conventions we normally like to go to, to either get cancelled or get a virtual equivalent. Well, to be honest, until this weekend, I wouldn't even thought of attending such an online event, but I already played a few games using the new technologies and it really ain't half bad!
On a windy Sunday, halfway through February, my most fearless boardgame opponent (our three-year-old son Jayson) and myself went on an excursion of one of Belgium's old coalmines. Now, we didn't go and explore the since a long time abandoned old mine itself; oh no, my dear ladies and gentlefriends, that wouldn't be interesting enough for this AWESOME gaming website. In one of the refurbished installation buildings, there was a small board game get together, organized by the good people of Meeple VZW.
For this year's Spiel Essen I, DumeeGamer's very own Cardboard Crewmember, Raymond "DuMeeple" Dumee, returned to the Board Game Valhalla to check out the latest news from the Table Topping world. An astonishing 209000 visitors wandered around the Deutsche Messe Halle during this 37th edition, housing more than 1200 exhibitors and offering more than 1500 new game releases. I did my share of testing various Board Games, so stay tuned as I will be publishing articles about my Spielventure during the coming weeks.
Yes, ladies and gents; it was that time again! Time to pack our bags and travel to Cologne, Germany for the most awesome game event in the entire world: Gamescom! So Ferry And Diana hopped into their trusty Volvo and set a course for this Valhalla of gaming!
Since 2010, for one whole day per year, the city of Utrecht is THE indie game center of the Netherlands. Why, I hear you ask. Well, because each year Indigo, a very cool game event centered around indie games, is being held. Those among us with good math skills will have instantly realized that 2019 marks the tenth anniversary of this awesome event. For the first time ever, due to the ever-growing popularity of Indigo, visitors needed to order their tickets which, in return, gave them access to three different areas.
NINTENDO POST E3 PRESS EVENT 2019
Last Thursday was a very special day for me, and that was all because I had the privilege to get invited to Nintendo's Post E3 event in the beautiful city of Utrecht. It was here that I got to see previews of some of their biggest upcoming releases. So before I go any further I'd like to thank the boss lady, Diana "Dumeegamer" Dumee herself for choosing me as Dumeegamer's representative. It's very much appreciated!
A beautiful monastery in the Southern Dutch woods, nearby our very own city of light, Eindhoven, serves as the backdrop for a two day board game convention, filled with a lot of board game pleasure. The biggest publishers of the Benelux, smaller board game creators, friendly local game shops and other board game entertainment are all part of the festivities. Welcome, dear reader, to ZuiderSpel!
For the first time in DumeeGamer.com history, an actual member of our crew visited Spiel Essen. When I, newbie Raymond "DuMeeple" Dumee, came barging into the DumeeGamer Headquartes in early June, they didn't know if I could do it. but I did! Four days of board games, card games, bratwurst and German beers is quite a challenge, but I managed to survive, so I think it's safe to say that I am now officially one of the team. Stay tuned as I publish new articles about my adventures at Spiel during the coming weeks. Right now, I just wants to thank each and every one of the great people I met during my Road to Spiel and at Spiel itself for their time and effort. I think it is already safe to say; Till Next Year!!!
For the third year in a row, SpellenFestival took place on a very sunny Sunday in late September. DumeeGamer's own Raymond "DuMeeple" Dumee and his better half, Diana "Sparkly Unicorn" Dumee-Wolters, drove all the way to the Belgian city of Genk, with the intent to play cool board games, meet old friends and even make some new ones.
DumeeGamer's own Diana and Ferry travelled, once again, to Cologne, Germany to attend the tenth edition of Gamescom! Stay tuned as we publish new articles each day during the upcoming week. We would like to thank all of the awesome people who took the time to talk to us and show us their amazing games at Gamescom 2018 and we hope to see you all again next year!

Locked up with games! Friday June 30 and Saturday July 1, the Indigo event, which is skilfully put together by Dutch Game Garden, was held in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The location for this was a special one, namely a former prison called "De Lik". The building stopped serving as a prison a while ago, but it still has that prison vibe. And what sounds more perfect than being locked up with all kinds of games from awesome Indie developers from countries throughout Europe?

There I was: packed, sweating (because it was like FREAKING HOT OUTSIDE), waiting for my train to bring me to The Hague for Animecon 2015. And man I was excited!
