Yes, ladies and gents; it was that time again! Time to pack our bags and travel to Cologne, Germany for the most awesome game event in the entire world: Gamescom! So Ferry And Diana hopped into their trusty Volvo and set a course for this Valhalla of gaming!
Our Gamescom adventure started with a visit of the THQ Nordic booth, which was an absolute awesome way to kick-start our fifth year at this amazing event. So sit back, relax and let us tell you why!
Don't you just love the Ice Age movies? Now, Diana is a big fan of Scrat and there is some good news, because this tiny creature is getting its very own game! (Just for the record; we're talking about Scrat, not Diana)
NOT A COMPANY
It's always cool to see a game multiple times during its development cycle. That's why it was once again time to check the status of a game called Hoverloop by Not a Company. What happened since we saw them last?
We always reserve some of our time during Gamescom for a visit to the exciting indie games in the indie hall. This year we spend some of that time at the booth of Deck 13 and both Ferry and I found a very cool game to play!
During our time at the Indie Arena, we came across a game called Wild Woods, in which up to four players must take the role of a brave cat and defend their wagon against evil creatures, while collecting the items to complete the journey!
EN MASSE ENTERTAINMENT
Something the older "kids" among us will definitely have heard of is The Dark Crystal. Don't worry if you haven't, because now is the perfect time to create a game about the magical world of Gelflings, Skeksis and other cool creatures.
I remember when the movie The Blair Witch was released back in 1999. I thought it was one of the most scary things I ever saw. So, when we got the invitation to check out the upcoming game Blair Witch by Bloober Team, I gladly accepted!
Suddenly, the gates of Hell itself violently burst open and waves of bloodthirsty demons started pouring through. Time for Ferry to start doing what he does best, which is kicking some serious demonic ass! Yo, Demon-bitch... Let's dance...
No trip to Gamescom would be complete without a visit to our friends at 1C Entertainment! We're always looking forward to seeing what cool games they have in store for us and this year was definitely no exception to this rule, so let's go!
During our visit of the indie hall at Gamescom, I spied a cool looking booth, which showcased a game called Stranded Sails - Explorers of the Cursed Islands. That's how we started the second day of Gamescom on a tropical Island!
STORM IN A TEACUP
Developer Storm in a Teacup has already created one of my favorite games: N.E.R.O. (Nothing Ever Remains Obscured), and now they have a new game called Close to the Sun. I surely don't want to miss out on a chance to play it myself!
We received an invitation to make an appointment to see and play a game called Trifox. Hmmm, a 3D twin stick shooter with a cool fox as protagonist? Yes please! So, with no further ado, let's start talking about Trifox.
I think there aren't that many gamers out there who are not looking forward to Borderlands 3 or at least are curious to see what the game is going to be like. Well, let's just say that, for us, this is no longer a question!
It's always really nice to visit the great people of NIS America. They are super nice and have a wide selection of most excellent games! Our next appointment was with NIS America, so let's see what they have in store in us this year!
CD PROJEKT RED
We were so happy to be able to book an appointment for the press presentation of Cyberpunk 2077. Yes, everyone is hyped for this game and we, here at DumeeGamer.com, are no exception. We can't wait to see more of this game!
