ODDWORLD: STRANGER'S WRATH HD (NINTENDO SWITCH)
Way back in 1997, we got our very first taste of something called the the Oddworld, when Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee was released. In the years that followed, we explored more and more of this wondrous and strange world with the second and third games in the Oddworld series: Abe's Exoddus and Much's Oddysee. Then, in 2005, things turned a bit more gritty when developer Oddworld Inhabitants released the fourth (and for a long time, last) installment in the Oddworld series: Stranger's Wrath.
LIFE IS STRANGE 2
What a journey we've been on for the last 15 months! It started back in September 2018 and now, all this time later, the final episode is finally here. And yes, of course I'm talking about Life is Strange 2 here, people! Now that the final episode has been released we finally get to finish this moving story. And because the complete game also is releases physically, I want to take you on my journey with two special boys, Sean and Daniel.
During last year's Gamescom, Ferry and I came across a booth where a game called Lost Ember was being shown to the public. I was really anxious to play this game, because I had already fallen in love with the game's cute animals and the beautiful world in which they lived. Somehow, Lost Ember immediately reminded me of games like Journey and N.E.R.O.: Nothing Ever Remains Obscured, so naturally I wanted to play!
SHE SEES RED
When you send me an email about a full motion video game, I'm immediately intrigued. I love that type of video games and I think it's a pity that, in the end, only a handful of games have successfully made use of this genre. Luckily, there are still developers brave enough to make such a game which, in this case, resulted in She Sees Red!
STORY OF A GLADIATOR
This is Spartaaa!!! Sometimes you hear about a title and you immediately know that you just need to play it, or else you can't continue living. Okay well, maybe not that dramatic, but you get my point, right? When I heard about Story of a Gladiator, I knew I had to play this game. Why? Well, first of all, the Spartacus TV series is one of my favorite series ever. Secondly, I love the movie Gladiator. And third, I never played a gladiator game before, so let's get this story started!
ASTERIX & OBELIX XXL 3: THE CRYSTAL MENHIR
Last year, I had the honor to review Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 Remastered and I was so happy to see the humor in this game is the same as in the movies I watched when I was a kid. So it brought back good memories and now we're back for even more, because Asterix and Obelix XXL3 : The Crystal Menhir has been released!
STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER
Okay, I have a confession to make; the first time I heard of this game was like only two or three months ago, when a friend of mine told me about the new upcoming Star Wars game. I checked the game's trailer and it looked good, but I was not totally convinced yet. Yes, I know it's Star Wars, but for some reason it just didn't speak to me. Then I heard that Respawn Entertainment was the developer and that's what really pulled me over to the other (or is it "Dark") side. Why? Well, because Respawn are the awesome people who developed the Titanfall series! So, long story short; I wanted to play this game! Let's take our first steps into the world of space, stars and... well, wars.
I always love a cute-looking game, so it might not come as much of a surprise that I was immediately attracted to Woven when I saw its first trailer. The cute and fluffy stuffed animal that you control on convinced me in just two seconds. If I remember correctly, it has been two years since I've played the pre-alpha version of Woven and ever since, I have been looking forward to playing the full game. Lucky for me, Alterego Games finished it, so I can now dive into this world of yarn and fabric!
Two months ago, I had the chance to play the Planet Zoo beta. I was able to play for one session during this beta and boy, oh boy; it left me wanting more! Now, two months later the wait (oh, the pain , the agony, the suffering) is finally over. Ladies and gentlemen, join me on my quest to build my own super-sized garden filled with animals in Planet Zoo!
LUIGI'S MANSION 3
Not all heroes wear capes! Some actually wear blue overalls over a green shirt and a snazzy green cap. Oh, and sometimes, just sometimes, they also lug a vacuum cleaner and flashlight around and make the world a bit safer, one ghost at a time. Now, this may not sound like a very likely hero, but it's just the hero we need when, during a nice holidays, things take a turn for the worse and get decidedly more spooky!
THE OUTER WORLDS
In an alternate timeline, set in a distant future, the Earth is in a right sorry state. The huge corporations that rule the planet (and are responsible for the majority of the mess we find ourselves in), have started building colonies on distant planets in faraway galaxies. To build and populate these colonies, they have sent massive faster-than-light spaceships, carrying literally thousands of people in cryo-sleep, into the deepest reaches of space where, as we all know, things tend to go horribly wrong...
CAT QUEST II: THE LUPUS EMPIRE
Now, it's universally accepted as truth that cats and dogs don't get along. Usually, these two species just go their separate ways and be done with it, but sometimes, just sometimes, they will have to set their petty squabbles aside and put their heads and paws together in order to overcome an even greater threat. Can they keep out of each other's fur long enough to save a kingdom in peril? Let's find out!
BALDUR'S GATE I & II ENHANCED EDITION
The first Baldur's Gate game I ever played, I played on the Xbox. Not the Xbox One, not the Xbox 360. No, my fellow readers, no; I'm talking about the very first Xbox! So, that would make it roughly like 10 to 15 years ago, since I played this game. I had enormous amounts of fun dispatching enemies left and right, so I was overjoyed when I heard that the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition was coming to current gen consoles!
ANNO 1800: BOTANICA DLC
The story of Anno 1800 unfolds in surprising ways. This game just keeps getting better and better with every DLC released. I was just getting myself into upgrading my farm folk while getting on with my quest to search for the missing queen and, with that, explore a whole new continent riddled with sunken treasures. I have put hours and hours into this game because I absolutely love it and it deserves nothing less than my undivided attention.
THE SINKING CITY
Oakmont, Massachussets. During the roaring 1920's, this once beautiful city is afflicted by a strange phenomenon; a flood of almost biblical proportions that turns half of the city's streets into wide rivers. Join private eye and war veteran Charles W. Reed as he tries to get to the bottom of this mysterious flood, as well as the origin of his own troubles...
I actually didn't know what to think of Greedfall when I first heard about it. I watched a couple of trailers and was thinking that I would probably love it till the moon and back because of the setting, or would be very disappointed because of difficult combat. The time has finally come to check out the game for myself and see what's what!
ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE: SCALEBREAKER
It's time for another update from the Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) universe. I'm very proud to be able to give you an update about the latest ESO content update, because I'm a huge fan of the game! This doesn't mean, however, that I won't criticise the game if there's something wrong with it...
When I first saw the trailer for Rad I was immediately hyped, mainly because of the promise that you could mutate your character. I saw the most crazy stuff happening to the characters and thought it was awesome, over the top and I just wanted to play this one so much! So, I once again shouted 'DIBS!' in our DumeeGamer.com app group and a month later, I'm the lucky bastard who gets to review this game.
ANNO 1800 & SUNKEN TREASURES DLC
Before I do anything else, I would like to ask the good people working at Ubisoft a question: "Guys... you are releasing so much epic content at the moment, how do you expect me to ever get some sleep?!" At the moment, the most played games in my library are definitely Ubisoft games. But, being the unbiased reviewer I am, for this review I will stay focused on the goal and that is to approach Anno 1800 with an open mind.
WARHAMMER 40,000: MECHANICUS - HERETEK
Warhammer 40,000 is one of the awesome table top games, originally designed by Games Workshop, which have made their way to our PC. The game features a Sci-fi / fantasy setting that presents a bleak image of the 41st century, a time in which technology is like a true religion and everything seems to revolve around one thing: war.
DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS 2
The first thing I did when I heard about Dragon Quest Builders 2, is shout "DIBS!" at the top of my digital lungs in our DumeeGamer.com Whatsapp group. Back off, people this game is mine! So, after a brief explanation of how this game should be best reviewed by me, everyone was peacefully coerced into believing that Dragon Quest Builders 2 should indeed be mine to review (and I really can't stress the word 'peacefully' enough...)
A dark shadow makes its way across the lands of the Old World and evil prowls its streets. You are one of four heroes, destined to vanquish this evil and make the Old World safe once more. But before this will come to pass, you will have to hack 'n slash your way through hordes of monsters and other assorted bad guys. Are you the savior this world has been looking for or will you only be a bloodstained footnote in the history books?
THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE: ELSWEYR
In a game genre as competitive as MMO, Elder Scrolls Online still manages to keep its head held high and shows us its muscles again and again. So, let's roll up our sleeves and get busy in the mesmerizing and mystifying continent called Tamriel, shall we?
BLADES OF TIME
Okay, I've got a confession to make here; I never played Blades of Time before. But a little birdie told me that this action-adventure Hack 'n' Slash game would be released on Nintendo Switch, so for me it's the perfect opportunity to get to know it.
A PLAGUE TALE: INNOCENCE
I remember first seeing a trailer for A Plague Tale: Innocence and thinking to myself: "Why the hell haven't I heard of this game before?! This looks awesome!" So seriously impressed with what I saw, I started looking into this title and quickly learned that it was to be a game in one of my favorite genres, the story-driven action / adventure genre. Now, many months later, the time has finally come in which we can get our hands on A Plague Tale and play it for ourselves. Time to see if the game is as good as I hoped it would be!
BIRD GAME +
Although this is actually the first time I heard about this game, but boy am I excited to play it! It looks so artsy and very unique. The game is developed by Bryan Tabor and published by Ratalaika games, a publisher whose games I always look forward to playing, seeing as how I already enjoyed playing quite a few of them!
RISE OF INDUSTRY
When it comes to video games, one of my favorite genres is definitely the building / simulation / tycoon genre. I have loved these games right from the first time I ever played them, which was waaaaaay back in the nineties, when I was just a little Michael. And because of this, I'm really in for a treat. Why? Well because, out of the entire DumeeGamer crew, I am the lucky one who gets to play Rise of Industry!
During last year's E3, I discovered a game called Days Gone. The trailer showed a bad ass biker that violently made his way through hordes of zombies. Was I intrigued at that moment? Hell yeah, I was intrigued! So I got some extra tattoos, bought a Harley and polished my shotgun for this dangerous adventure!
HELLBLADE: SENUA'S SACRIFICE (NINTENDO SWITCH RELEASE)
The last review I wrote was about Yoshi's Crafted World; a very cute, cuddly and colorful game for the Nintendo Switch. This review is also about a Switch game. And although this game is a bit less colorful and cute, it's nothing less awesome! Last year, I told you about a great game called Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Well, now this excellent game is finally available for the Nintendo Switch!
THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL SEASON
I can only imagine that being a survivor after the zombie apocalypse has swept across the planet is far from easy. Especially if you're just a little kid. If you're lucky, you meet someone who takes care of you and teaches you to take care of yourself, so you can grow up in relative safety. And if you're really, really lucky. they don't die on you. One such kid, albeit not really, really lucky, is a girl called Clementine, and it's time to see the end of her story...
I did it; I am El Presidente! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for voting. Of course I didn't expect to actually win the elections but, nevertheless, here I am and I'm going to rock you like a hurricane! Wait, what? What do you want? You want to know how I did it, because you'd also like to become president? Well, sit back and let me share my wisdom with all of you.
SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE
After playing the games from the illustrious Souls series for over a decade, I felt like an abandoned dog strapped to a tree watching its owner drive away into the dark of night, when the developers announced the end of the series. I didn't know if they would return, or what would happen next. I tried to escape from my leash and set out to find a new owner, but there was no one who matched or, better yet, even came close to my previous master. Then after truly a dark period in my life, word came from out of the abyss. The master had returned... FINALLY!
ASSASSIN'S CREED III REMASTERED
Ah, to travel the world, visit exotic places, meet interesting people. and kill them. Now, I know this is not generally acceptable behavior, nor has it ever been or should it ever be. Nevertheless, this is exactly what we'll be doing as we revisit the very game of the Assassin's creed series that put the series on the thoroughly diverse path it is on nowadays. Let's get busy with Assassin's Creed III Remastered!
CHOCOBO'S MYSTERY DUNGEON: EVERY BUDDY!
Okay, shall I enter the dungeon as a White Mage? Or as a Knight? Or shall I choose the Dancer, because he's happy and way more powerful than I originally thought. Or shall I go for one of the new jobs available for my cute and cuddly Chocobo? Let's find out. Come on Everybuddy!
GHOST OF A TALE
Sometimes you come across something so cute, that you simply can't ignore it. And to be honest, when I saw the trailer for Ghost of a Tale, I couldn't ignore it, even if I wanted to... which I most certainly didn't in this case! My husband and DumeeGamer collaborator Ferry told me about this game and, after seeing it in action, I can only say that it is truly one of a kind. So, sit back and let me tell you why...
DELTARUNE (CHAPTER 1)
Ahh Deltarune, the long awaited return of the famous Toby Fox (creator of the epic masterpiece that is Undertale) has come. I remember watching the February Nintendo Direct in the hope that my boy Sans would get announced as the newest Smash Bros DLC fighter (I'm dead serious, I need this man in the game). That didn't happen (yet), however, we got something equally awesome...
I was really looking forward to playing a brand new stealth-based action gameplay from Square Enix! Them being the designer from one of my favorite game series, the Metal gear solid series, I was excited to see to see this dark and gritty world were the only option is to survive. As a gamer, you have many challenges to survive, like having a crappy internet connection...
THE LEGO MOVIE 2 VIDEO GAME
We have all had those days where we're playing games and we long for something simple, something less intense, something fun. You may remember those old Lego games from your childhood like Lego Chess or Lego Rock Raiders, but what if I told you that these Lego games are still up and running? Both children, people who have retired and all those in between can now enjoy the simple fun that Lego Movie 2 has to offer.
ETERNITY: THE LAST UNICORN
Since last year's Gamescom I've been so looking forward to this game! It was one of the titles that was featured on the awesome 1C Publishing booth. It was there that I met Luiz Aguena, a developer at São Paulo, Brazil based Void Studios, who showed me their upcoming game called Eternity: The Last Unicorn.
SWORDS & SOLDIERS II: SHAWARMAGEDDON
Say the word Vikings and you've immediately piqued my interest. Say Vikings and lots of witty pleasantries and I'll be sitting at the ready with my drinking horn, axe, shield and a cozy blankie to listen with full attention. So it's no wonder that when the game Swords and Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon came barging noisily around the corner, I was more than ready to take on a new challenge.
FAR CRY: NEW DAWN
Nearly a year after we witnessed the horrible events that unfolded in Hope County, Far Cry is back with a new installment in the ever-growing series: A spin-off from Far Cry 5 that goes by the illustrious title, Far Cry: New Dawn. Let's journey back to Hope county and let's start trying to set some things straight.
What would you do if you lived in a post-apocalyptic world, knowing for sure that the only other people alive are the ones in your group of survivors, until the day you discover certain things that prove there might actually be more survivor, as well as more inhabitable areas, than you previously thought? Would you stay with your own group and pretend nothing happened? Or would you go out, travel through the dangerous world outside and try to find other survivors? Time to find out!
CITY OF BRASS
A story about a cursed city and a great challenge every single level? Is that what I hear you asking for? Well, no need to look any further, because City of Brass might just be the game for you! City of Brass transports the player into a cursed city and the question is if you will learn from the folly of the former citizens, or share their doom?
What defines a hero? I mean, I think about this every now and then and I always enjoy to hear other people's opinions on this question. Simply because the answer you get is almost never the same. Some love fictional heroes, while others go for real-life heroes. Whatever the answer may be, it tells so much about that person which, to me, is beautiful. Anyway, my dear reader, just a strain of thoughts for you. For today we will be talking about Heroes Trails!
MAGES OF MYSTRALIA
The moment I heard of the existence of a game called Mages of Mystralia, I just knew I wanted to play it. I love a good story, filled with magic, adjustable spells and a fierce heroine! And the fact that this game is now released for the Nintendo Switch made it the perfect time for me to check it out!
ACHTUNG! CTHULHU TACTICS (SWITCH RELEASE)

Armed with a comprehensive knowledge of the occult and advanced technology, these troops prove to be a most formidable foe. And as if that weren't bad enough, Eldritch creatures also begin to stir deep within the darkened heart of the Ardennes...
This is my absolute favorite time of year. I love Christmas decorations, curling up on my couch with a blanket and tea or hot cacao and, of course, playing a good video game! With the holidays rapidly approaching, I would like to tell you about a game I played this year. It was a thrilling tale of danger, cuteness and a furry hero! One could say it is purrrrfect for the holidays...
JUST CAUSE 4
Yes, ladies and gentlemen! It's time for one of the games I was really looking forward to this year. In the last month of 2018, we can all enjoy the game in which no valley is too deep and no mountain too high. I'm talking, of course, about Just Cause 4!
I AM THE HERO
What would be the result of a union of Double Dragon and Street Fighter? Well, it had to be a game with fast and fluid fighting gameplay, massive combos, a cool backstory, awesome pixel art and loads and loads of enemies for you to beat into a bloody pixilated pulp... Now, this may seem an unlikely offspring of two great games, but it is exactly what the developers at Crazyant created back in 2017...
ASTERIX & OBELIX XXL 2 REMASTERED
A long, long time ago, when I was just a tiny Michael, my weekends were mostly filled with cartoons. I grew up with two sisters and a brother, so it was always a challenge to find something on TV that all four kids loved. There was one thing in particular that we all, our parents included, liked to watch and that were the Asterix and Obelix movies.
First, we obliterated both demons and angels alike as the mighty War. After that, we assumed the role of Death and kept the carnage going. And now it's about time that we don the mantle or, in this case, the tight leather and armor-plated catsuit of yet another one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Well, they are called the horsemen, but this third one undeniably, unequivocally falls in the female category... Time for Darksiders III!
It's time to clean your gun, put on your best suit and make sure you have your piano wire ready. Why? Well, we are, once again, going to step into the world of professional assassination. Get ready to pick up Agent 47's story where we left off two years ago. So, as the saying goes: Travel to exciting places, meet interesting people... and kill them. Let's get busy with Hitman 2!
This week is pretty much all about two games I guess; Battlefield V and Fallout 76. After a long discussion with my colleague, Ferry "Sadhonker" Adams, we decided that he would write about Battlefield V and yours truly would dive into the world of Fallout 76. This, if I say so myself, was the right decision, because I've been playing the Fallout games since the first installment in the series and I enjoyed everyone of them!
SWORDS & SOLDIERS II: SHAWARMAGEDDON
Have you ever woken up and wondered; Why aren't there any Vikings fighting for shawarma right now? If you have then, besides the fact that you have some really, really strange thoughts, I might have found the perfect game for you: Swords & Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon!
RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2
Howdy stranger! Are you ready to roam the plains of the Wild West? If so, then saddle up your trusty steed and come with me, Arthur Morgan, outlaw and gunslinger extraordinaire, as well as a respected member of the infamous Dutch van der Linde gang. If it's excitement and danger you seek, then you've come to the right place!
LEGO DC SUPER VILLAINS
No matter which LEGO game you throw at me, I'll play them all and have a blast while doing so! Maybe this has something to do with my childhood, when we had a big pile of LEGO and my brother, my sisters and I would build our very own town, complete with LEGO railroad and. well, like I said: good memories! Unfortunately, I'm not building much with my LEGO anymore nowadays, but luckily there are still LEGO video games. So let me take you on a trip through the latest addition to the ever growing LEGO games family: LEGO DC Super Villains!
SINNER: SACRIFICE FOR REDEMPTION
"...inspired by the Souls series and Shadow of the Colossus..." Wait, what?! That's like my two favorite games of all time came together and made a baby! How can I not be excited about this game?!
ASSASSIN'S CREED ODYSSEY
Today, we set foot in Ancient Greece. And not as just anyone, no sir! We do this as one of two awesomely skilled siblings; a brother and sister that go by the names of Alexios and Kassandra. But before we do any of this, we first take the role of King Leonidas, as he leads his troops into battle against the Persians. How's that for an action-filled start of a game?! Time to get down and dirty with Assassin's Creed Odyssey!
LIFE IS STRANGE 2 - EPISODE 1: ROADS
Yes, ladies and gentlemen; we are back, once again, for another grand adventure in the world of Life is Strange! As far as I know, this new installment will make no use of previous protagonists Max and no Chloe, but two brand new characters, who just happen to be brothers, are introduced as our "heroes". I'm a big fan of the previous two games of the Life is Strange series and I also loved the free episode of Captain Spirit, which was released earlier this year. So, I'm very curious to find out who these new characters are and what amazing adventures they, and we, are going to have in Life is Strange 2.
DEEP SKY DERELICTS
From the time man learned to walk up straight, we always had our sights set on the stars. In this grim, dystopian future, man has finally conquered said stars and lives happily among them. Well, I say happily, but that is only true for a selected few. As per usual, the rich and mighty live leisurely lives on beautiful planets, while the less fortunate, the Stateless, make their meager existence from salvaging what they can from the husks of derelict spaceports...
ROBOTHORIUM (EARLY ACCESS)
During this year's Gamescom, we had an appointment with the amazing guys of Goblinz Studio, who traveled all the way to Cologne in order to show their upcoming game, a futuristic turn-based RPG that goes by the name of Robothorium. Although turn-based combat is usually not my forte, I actually had a lot of fun playing the demo. So naturally, I was very curious to know now what happens next...
When I saw the trailer of Immortal: Unchained for the first time, I thought it would be like God of War with guns. But I couldn't have been more wrong! Let me take you on my journey through the depths of dread of Immortal: Unchained and how I discovered that it was a different game than I thought which is, incidentally, not a bad thing!
SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER
"Oh no, what are they doing? Waaaaah, what's happening now? Wiiiiii, look how awesome this is!" These, dear readers, are just a couple of phrases my husband Ferry "Sadhonker" heard me shouting out loud while playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, last weekend was all about Lara Croft's latest adventure for me!
If history has shown us anything it's that it's quite hard to make decent videogame and movie adaptations, especially when the protagonist has a huge fan base. We, the people, demand depictions that do our heroes justice. We, the people, expect to see all our favorite characters, signature moves and decent type casting or good voice acting. Too often have we been let down...
Are you ready for an adventure of epic proportions? Well, you've come to the right place, because I'm about to ship out on a mission in Africa! Who am I? I'm one of four proud members of an elite group of warriors that goes by the name of the Strange Brigade! So, sign up with me and let's save the world together!
VICTOR VRAN: OVERKILL EDITION
Recently, we told you about Victor Vran: Overkill Edition for the Nintendo Switch, because we played it during our time at Gamescom 2018. Usually the games we play at Gamescom take a while before they are actual released but, as luck would have it, Victor Vran: Overkill Edition for Nintendo Switch released the week after Gamescom. So here we go!
WE HAPPY FEW (FULL RELEASE)
The wait is finally over, people. In 2016, the game We Happy Few entered the Early Access and we played its cool demo. Now, after playing said demo, a lot of people were really looking forward to the official release of the full game. August 10, 2018 marked this occasion, so now we can finally all sit back, relax and take your Joy!
BUD SPENCER & TERENCE HILL: SLAPS AND BEANS
Once upon a time, back when I was just a small, innocent kid, there was an absolute highlight to my weekends: the Sunday afternoons! "Why", I hear you ask? Well, because that was the time I could get comfy on the couch and watch my all-time favorite action-comedy duo do their thing. I am talking, of course, about the incomparable Bud Spencer and Terence Hill! And now, much to my surprise, an entire game is made in their honour. Time for a trip down memory lane...
THE BANNER SAGA 3
This might be one of my briefest reviews to date. But hold on, it's for a good reason. It comes as no surprise that The Banner Saga 3 is the third installment of.. well.. The Banner Saga. For those unfamiliar with the Banner Saga Games, it's about Norse/Scandinavian folk trying to prevent the end of the world as they know it (i.e. Ragnarok). The series has a Norse mythology backdrop and is super story driven.
MARIO + RABBIDS BATTLE KINGDOM - GOLD EDITION
We already have the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle game for the Nintendo Switch and I don't think I really need to tell you how awesome it is. But, during the E3 presentation by both Ubisoft and Nintendo, there was some kind of Donkey Kong content promised for the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle game. So for this review, we're going for the full package: The Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Gold Edition!
SUPER BOMBERMAN R
Bomberman is back! fifteen months after the release of Super Bomberman R for the Nintendo Switch, PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners can also join in the fun, because Super Bomberman R is finally released for these systems! So gather your bombs and get ready to unleash some serious explosions! oh, and try not to blow yourself up...
When I was a teenager, I was what people called a Gothic. I loved my black clothes which, incidentally, had kind of a vampire-ish look. Plus, I'm more of a night person anyway, so who of the Dumeegamer.com crew would have been the best choice to review Dontnod's latest game, Vampyr? I'll tell you who; Me, me, me!
DumeeGamer's very own Lex "Gaz the Dungeonmaster" Ansems took it upon himself to brave the terrors of the battlefield and see what's what in medieval Europe. Get ready for a look at Ancestors Legace, a historically inspired RTS title by Destructive Creations and the 1C Company!
DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN
Last Saturday morning started extremely well, because the mailman made an awesome delivery: a limited edition box of Detroit: Become Human! The box is triangle shaped and you can fold it open after you remove the lid. Inside the box, there's a card with a PSN code for the complete game, as well as an excellent art book and beautiful character sheets. It looks totally awesome. and that's just the box we're talking about here!
YONDER: THE CLOUD CATCHER CHRONICLES (NINTENDO SWITCH)
Last year, DumeeGamer's very own Jef "JeffAlpha" reviewed the PS4 version of a game called Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. He was over the moon about this great and colorful open world RPG game. I have to say, this game looked so good and cute, I would have loved to play it myself. Oh well, sometimes you have to share and, seeing as how Jef called dibs on it first, I let him play the game and do the review. I did think, however, that Yonder and the Nintendo Switch would be a match made in heaven, but alas, that was not to be. So, how cool is it that, some eight months later, my dream finally comes true?!
When someone mentions Conan some of you might think of a friendly ginger talk show host. Others might think of Jason Momoa's 2011 interpretation of Conan the Barbarian. I personally fondly remember his predecessor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the 1982 fantasy adventure film also named Conan the Barbarian. And then there was the aptly named videogame... yes, you've guessed it: Conan.
ASH OF GODS: REDEMPTION
The last time I told you about Ash of Gods: Redemption, I was playing the Early Access version of the game, in which I could (only) play 90 minutes of the game. March 23, 2018 marked the full game's release, so it's about time our story continued, wouldn't you agree? Time to have another look!
GOD OF WAR
Last Friday, something mighty important was delivered at our DumeeGamer HQ... with the emphasis on "Mighty"! For it was on that faithful day that our friends at Sony sent us a copy of a game that is the absolute number one on my wish list. We've had to wait for five years to see if and how the story of one of the most awesome protagonists out there would continue... Yes, ladies and gentlemen; Kratos is back!
HELLBLADE: SENUA'S SACRIFICE
From the very first time I saw a trailer for this game, I just knew I had to play it. The girl in the trailer was looking so fierce and bad ass and she was slaying all kinds of evil looking monsters! Plus, the game looked really, really, REALLY good. Who doesn't want to play a game like that?! Exactly... Count me in!
From time immemorial, the world has been at war. For generations, humans have fought one another for land and riches while our true enemies have lurked in the distance: throngs of ravenous monsters standing 150 feet tall that aim to destroy our kind. Only those trained in the ways of the ancient order stand a chance at defeating these monstrosities, known colloquially as "ogres." You are one of the world's last defenders, a warrior named Avil equipped with the skill, speed and strength to oppose the endless wave of Ravenii and prevent a fate worse than death: Extinction.
A WAY OUT
If there is one genre that the gaming industry is severely lacking in games-wise, it has to be the two player coop genre. Lucky for us, game developer Hazelight now adds its brand new game called A Way Out to the genre. And what a game this is, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! A way out is a game in which working together is key to your survival. No leaderboards, no kill-streaks, no bullshit; just pure and awesome cooperative gameplay!
FAR CRY 5
What an awesome weekend I had! True, I had to deal with some jealous friends (yes, I've seen your faces), when they heard that I was already playing Farcry 5, but my mini vacation in Hope County was worth the effort. Let me tell you all about it and who knows; maybe after reading this, you want to travel down there yourself!

During our time at last year's GamesCom we came across a game called Past Cure by independent developer Phantom 8. We were impressed by how well the game works and how awesome it looks. After another half year of hard work the developer's dream of releasing their game has finally come true and I, for one, am anxious to see it in action!
METAL GEAR SURVIVE
Once upon a time (1987) there was this game called Metal gear right ? And, like a while later, there was this game called Metal Gear: Solid; a stealth/action game about a guy called "Snake", who is named after the main protagonist of the movies Escape from New York and Escape from L.A., played by Kurt Russell. This, by the way, has absolutely nothing to do with this story by the way...
Yes ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; Crossing Souls is here to take you on a journey between life and death! The guys of Zoink Games are going to show us just how diverse they can be with their latest game: Fe.
ASH OF GODS: REDEMPTION (PREVIEW)
Last week I received an email with the question if I wanted to check out an upcoming game called Ash of Gods: Redemption by independent developer AurumDust. The message stated that you can make any decision you want in this game; you could even go so far as to kill the main character...
From the moment I saw the Hidden Agenda trailer at last years' E3, I so wanted to play this game! A cool storydriven game that you can enjoy together with your friends; how cool is that?!

Is it Minecraft? Is it Farmville?! No sir, it's Staxel; a brand new game by indie developer Plukit. Staxel is a voxel based sandbox world that opens up to you after the first introduction, and gives you your very own farm, complete with pet. And, in light of the century old feud between cat lovers and dog lovers, the developers decided to incorporate both species into the game, so nobody has to get their panties in a twist over that one!
DAUNTLESS (EARLY ACCESS)
Let's talk about an awesome game called Dauntless. I asked my Dumeegamer.com boss (who, incidentally, is also my sister) if we please, please could email the awesome people of Phoenix Labs about this upcoming game. After seeing the trailers, I just SO wanted to play Dauntless. I'm a big fan of Monster Hunting games and Dauntless looks to be my cup of tea!
Fallen Legion + a game that originally presented itself as two separate games on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita and now takes its rightful place in the Steam library. It's an RPG set in a medieval, hand drawn world. The best elements from the series are being combined to make this one epic adventure!
LIFE IS STRANGE: BEFORE THE STORM
We're back, or better said; Rachel and Chloe are back! Their "Before the Storm" adventure continues and is about to reach the end. Although it's almost impossible to tell you more about this amazing Life is Strange series without spoiling anything, I will do my very best not to tell you anything that might spoil the game and, in doing so, ruin your fun. So let's go!
Now, I don't know about you, but when I'm playing a game (or watching a movie) and there is a dog involved, I instantly stop caring about the other characters. I don't care who dies, as long as the dog lives! So lucky for me, this game is all about a nice white dog! Okay it's actually a wolf, but that's every bit as good as a dog, wouldn't you agree?
Back in 2016, we visited the awesome people of Frozenbyte at Gamescom and tried out their, then still upcoming, game: Nine Parchments. Ever since, I so badly wanted to play this game, and this week its finally Nine Parchments time!
THE SIMS 4
Let me first say that I am a huge fan of The Sims ever since my big brother introduced me to it (like he did with a number of games I am very fond of). "But what do you like about this particular game," I hear you ask? Well, I like to control the lives of those (sometimes unfortunate) Sims...
PLANET OF THE APES: LAST FRONTIER
To be honest, I didn't even know this game was coming until it was practically standing at our doorstep. But I'm a sucker for the movies; Hell, I love everything with "Planet of the Apes" in the title! So yeah, I definitely want to play this game.
L.A. NOIRE REMASTERED
Yes, ladies and gentlemen! Time to dust off your monocles. L.A. Noire is back! And in hot fashion, I might add... Cole Phelps has never looked this handsome! And neither has Los Angeles. L.A. Noire 4k remaster looks amazing! The updated textures, lighting, shadows and reflections make this game look sharp as ever! L.A. Noire is easily one of my top 10 games ever, so I was really excited to try this bad boy out!
HAND OF FATE 2
A game of cards and chance meets with hack 'n slash combat and magic? This game has got "me" written all over it! I have never played the first Hand of Fate, so I was curious when I saw footage of this game. Being a virgin when it comes to the Hand of Fate series, I jumped right in and let the game take me. ON A JOURNEY!!! I let the game take me on a journey! Well, I could've formulated that better. oh well, what are you gonna do, right?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go... I just love Christmas; winter, snow, everything about is is awesome! It's the best time to curl up on the couch, with some tea or hot coco and read a book, watch a movie or, as is the case today, play a game!
SUPER MAN OR MONSTER
Three years ago, I visited the Indigo Festival for the first time. One of the games I saw back then was Super Man or Monster. Now, three years later, this game is actually getting released! It's so cool to see such a game finally being launched, am I right?
ASSASSIN'S CREED: ORIGINS
Are you ready to fight for what you believe in? Are you resolute enough to take the life of the ones that are oppressing the good people and hunger only for absolute power? If so, you've come to the right place, because it is time for a new installment in the series that has come to be the benchmark for that particular mix of stealth and action/adventure gameplay. Yep, you've guessed correctly; Assassin's Creed is back!
A top-down, open world video game, inspired by the classic GTA games? Driving around like a maniac, shooting the bad guys and fighting for the good cause? Damn, guys! Where do I sign up?!?!
Don't you just hate it when a random meteorite destroys a large portion of life on your planet? I mean, just imagine you have just painted your house and all of a sudden there's fire, dust and other assorted crap all over the place! Well, if you happen to live on a planet called Magalan, you are probably all too familiar with this scenario...
SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE
So, let me just start by saying that I will try to reduce the spoiler level of this review as much as possible, but I can't promise that I won't accidentally drop a few. So, if I spoil anything, I'm REALLY sorry... well, then again, there is a little bit of Cartman in me, so I just realised that I actually really don't care that much... Okay, let's get into this!
METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
Wow! To find this game in the PS Plus free section! That's a steal! This is easily one of THE best games of 2015. Don't worry if you aren't a big Metal Gear fan, I wasn't at first but this game changed it all! Making this Metal Gear game a open world game and adding tons of features was an awesome move from Konami and made more people enter the world of big Mechs and unexplainable things!
Who, would you say, is usually man's worst enemy? Yes, I'm sure death and taxes are up there, but that isn't what we're going for here! No, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the enemy we're are looking for is man itself! So basically, you are your worst enemy. or, at least, you can be if you don't pay attention!
THE GIRL AND THE ROBOT
From the first time I saw the trailer of The Girl and the Robot, I knew I just had to play this game. It looked really cute and that is something that is right up my alley! Lucky for me, I have been a good girl this year, so Santa's Clause came early and brought me a nice copy of The Girl and the Robot. And now I can tell you all about this game, isn't that great?!
Runic Games, the game creators that brought us Torchlight and Torchlight II, unveil their latest brainchild named Hob. Without getting too much into the artwork and overall feel of the game, I would describe Hob's look and feel as a Maze Runner meets Journey blend with a pinch of Horizon: Zero Dawn. if that description doesn't scream adventure, then I don't know what does.
Try, if you will, to picture this; you wake up on a small and thoroughly unfamiliar rock island. You have no memory about anything from your life up till this point, so you have no clue as to why you are where you are... wherever that may be. There are actually only two things to see when you look around: Endless miles of water and gigantic tower-like structure, smack dab in the middle of the island...
THE BINDING OF ISAAC: AFTERBIRTH
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth is a so called Twin-stick shooter / dungeon crawler, and the expansion for the 2014 remake of the original Binding of Isaac, Rebirth. But, no matter what you call the genre, this game is total madness! From its freaky art style, crazy items you can pick up, to the complete randomness of the levels. But that doesn't mean it isn't fun!
This is awesome! My first review for the website, AND it is immediately about the new title from Devolver Digital, Absolver; A Kung Fu RPG with an almost-cartoony art style, action filled open world, mysterious story and a bunch of deadly weapons! Did I leave something out...? Oh yes! How about: it has the best damn melee-fighting mechanics ever!!!
LIFE IS STRANGE: BEFORE THE STORM
More than two years ago, Dontnod Entertainment and Square Enix blew us away with their amazing game, Life is Strange. The adventure of Max Caulfield and her time manipulating powers was beautiful, thrilling and intense. So yeah, I have high hopes for this prequel and as of August 31 we can finally play the first episode.
UNCHARTED: THE LOST LEGACY
As we all probably know by now, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has a different protagonist than previous games in the series. Yes; it's bye bye Drake and hallo Chloe Frazer! Yes ladies and gentlemen; Chloe Frazer is chosen to be the heroine of this game. Together with Nadine Ross, who we all know from Uncharted 4, Chloe is on her way to find the mythical Tusk of Ganesh!
MASQUERADA: SONGS AND SHADOWS
Masquerada: Songs and Shadows puts you in the role of Cicero Gavar, a man of humble birth who made a decent career for himself. His rank of inspettore put him in an awkward position when he comes face to face with his brother who fights for the lower class in the citte della Ombre. Unwilling to kill his outlaw brother Cicero is exiled as a traitor...
1998. You, Vasiliy, a high-level secret operative for one of the world's largest cybernetics companies, are the best there is in your field and are usually tasked with the most dangerous missions. Your lack of compassion and expertise in hand-to-hand combat, firearms, stealth and torture makes you the perfect tool to do the company's dirty work...
SHADOW TACTICS: BLADES OF THE SHOGUN
The year is 1615 during the Tokugawa period in Japan, an era of Shinobi and Samurai. Conflict is settled with both swords and early firearms. I imagine all sorts of brave warriors in elaborate armor charging to an early grave, for honor and the future of their clan. Anyone who is fascinated by this period in Japanese history pays attention whenever this theme pops up in movies or videogames. I am no exception.
Some challenges are not for the faint of heart. But, no matter how though the challenge sometimes seems to be, today I learned (yet again) why we at DumeeGamer.com never shy away from them. No matter how small or great they may seem. Now come see what I am going on about... if you dare!
YONDER: THE CLOUD CATCHER CHRONICLES
Lace up your hiking boots, grab your fishing rod, get out there and.. explore.. stuff! Now that we set the tone with some youthful enthusiasm, one might argue that we are in the right mind state to talk about the very first game of Australian indie developer Prideful Sloth, Yonder: The Cloudcatcher Chronicles!
RAIDERS OF THE BROKEN PLANET
During my annual E3 trailer watching, I came across an upcoming game by independent Spanish developer, Mercury Steam. I know Mercury Steam because of their awesome Castlevania: Lords of Shadow games. Now they're back with another game for us to enjoy, Raiders of the Broken Planet! It's binga, benga, beta time!
Doesn't everybody, at one point or another, dream of creating a world of their own? Well, the good news is that now, you can! The upcoming game Planet Nomads by indie developer Craneballs is available for early access on Steam since May 25, 2017. Planet Nomads is a Sandbox Sci-fi game where you can do just about literally anything you want!
Although AereA is set to be released on June 30, we at DumeeGamer.com had the honor to give AereA, the upcoming action RPG that is developed by Triangle Studios and published by our friends at Soedesco. And let me spoil my conclusion right away; this is a game you definitely want to play!
REGALIA: OF MEN AND MONARCHS
Imagine that, one day, you discover you are royalty. And not just any royalty, no sir, you are an honest-to-god heir to the throne. The first thought that would probably pop into your head will be something like: "That's going to be awesome!" or "I'm going to be the best king or queen ever!" In this game, you might discover that being a ruler of a kingdom comes with many responsibilities but, truth be told, it's also an awesome experience, especially in Regalia: of Men and Monarchs!
Imagine, if you will, that our world is covered in snow because of a horrifying blizzard. And not just a pleasant layer of snow to play in either; it covers the entire world, reaching the rooftops of even the tallest houses. It's would be quite difficult to survive in this world, wouldn't you agree? Well, however hard it may be, in this case we will have to give it a try.
BIRTHDAYS: THE BEGINNING
I love my birthday! I celebrate it by at least taking the day off. Sometimes I treat myself to a relaxing day at the spa, and other times I just stay home and watch my favorite movies or read a book. I never thought I would be creating an entire planet, though...
What will the world look like if humanity keeps on going like it is or, even worse, takes up its consuming-game another notch? To answer this question, German developer Deck 13 and French publisher Focus Home Interactive take us on a trip forward in time in their latest game: The Surge!
WARHAMMER 40,000: DAWN OF WAR III
Some things you just don't have to change much... like a good game, for example! Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III is a perfect example of such a thing. It feels like I'm playing Dawn of War II, but with better graphics and new heroes of course. But don't worry, you'll come across plenty of familiar faces along the way!
SCÉAL: AN IRISH FOLKLORE ADVENTURE
Have you ever seen the movie The Crow? If you haven't, you definitely should watch it. It's an awesome story about how true love never dies and how a crow helps a guy who is brought back from the dead to avenge the death of his beloved. I was reminded of this movie last weekend, when I played Scéal: The Irish Folklore Adventure, the latest game by Joint Custody. In this game, a crow is the guide of lost souls and he is a big help to the spirit of a young girl.

RYSE: SON OF ROME
Do you remember the launch of the Xbox One? They had a remarkable choice for their launch title. No well-known series like Gears of War or Halo. No, they developed a whole new game for their newest console: Ryse: Son of Rome. And this month, this game is one of the Games for Gold for Xbox Gold Members!
MASS EFFECT: ANDROMEDA
For some, there is no greater mystery than that held by the vastness of space. Ever since man looked up at the sky for the first time, some of us have deemed traveling to far-off galaxies and visiting alien planets the highest goal mankind could possibly strive to achieve. And, of course, ever since that day, mankind has asked itself the most important question: are we alone in the universe?
We all know LEGO from our youth. Who didn't play with LEGO bricks (or stepped on one from time to time?) as a kid to build cars, buildings and more? LEGO has always been smart when it comes to marketing their product and linking it to modern popular themes. Even the path to the world of computer gaming has proven over and over again to hold no problems whatsoever for them!
NINTENDO SWITCH / BREATH OF THE WILD
The time has finally come; the Nintendo Switch has been launched! The moment every Nintendo fan was waiting so desperately for, is now here. Okay, so what have we got here? A brand new Nintendo console with less power than the Xbox One or PS4 but which still has a few tricks up its sleeve that will still convince us to take a look at this brand new Nintendo console.
HORIZON: ZERO DAWN
The general consensus is that world as we know it will be destroyed someday. Furthermore, it is said that it will most likely be destroyed by the greed and sheer stupidity of mankind itself... Let's see how this works out in Horizon: Zero Dawn!
Who do you want to be? A bold knight, a brute Viking or a deadly samurai? It's time to make up your mind, because For Honor is right at our doorstep!

I sure do like surprises, especially when there's a game involved. This time, the surprise comes in the form of the game Brut@l; a dungeon-crawler, brought to us by Indie developers Stormcloud Games and Rising Star Games. Brut@l is very different from games you have seen up till now and I absolutely love it! Let me explain why.
Don't you just love the Jurassic Park movies? I sure know I do! Coincidentally, this weekend my eye fell on Telltales: Jurassic Park. So instead of watching the movies for the thousandth time, I decided to play this prehistoric Telltale adventure.
STORIES: THE PATH OF DESTINIES
At this time of year, I like to curl up on the couch with a good book. When a developer offers me the chance to "read" a good story by playing a game, I'm all ears. This month, one of the free games for PS Plus members called Stories: The Path of Destinies does just that! So let's just put my book down for now to check out what story, what path and what destiny is out there for me!
THE LAST GUARDIAN
The first time I saw the trailer of The Last Guardian, I was ooh-ing and aah-ing without pause. I knew this would be a game which I wanted, no needed, to play. No question about that. I mean, did you see that cute big doglike creature?!
SHADOW TACTICS: BLADES OF THE SHOGUN

In order to thwart this evil plot, the Shogun enlists the help of five warriors and sends them forth to vanquish Kage-Sama's allies and restore peace to the land.
EVERYBODY'S GONE TO THE RAPTURE
This month (November 2016), Everybody's gone to the Rapture is one of the free PS Plus games. For me, this was a good opportunity to finally try this game for myself. Since its release, I have been meaning to sink my teeth into this game, but never seemed to have gotten around to actually doing so. What attracted me most were the great-looking graphics which I saw in teaser trailers and the promise of a deep and engaging story. So let's find out why everybody has gone to the rapture, shall we?
It's always annoying when that certain chain-smoking, wine-guzzling and ever-complaining aunt comes by unannounced and wrecks your lazy Sunday. Well, if you think that's bad, just picture this: a long-lost family member suddenly pops up , takes your throne, turns your people against you, makes you public enemy numero uno and, oh yes, turns a loved one to stone. That would suck even harder, wouldn't it?! Let's just say that Empress Emily Kaldwin and her father, the awesome and well-known bodyguard and allround tough guy Corvo Attano, are having a bit of a rough day!
DRAGONBALL XENOVERSE 2
A year ago, our esteemed colleague, Kevin "Methodone89" van Dongen, reviewed the first game in the Xenoverse series of Dragonball games and, even though he had some critique, he said the game had finally stepped up to the level where the fans would want the games to be. Now we’re here in 2016 and Xenoverse 2 has recently been released. Let’s have a look and see if it can keep up with its predecessor, or maybe even shoot a Kamehama in its face or, better yet, right through it!
WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY
Funny, that with the release of Final Fantasy XV on our doorstep, director Hiroki Chiba wanted to launch a Final Fantasy title to bring children into the Final Fantasy franchise. And taadaa!! The World of Final Fantasy was born!
I was literally as happy as a kid at Christmas time last week, when a package arrived at my house. Presents?! I love presents! Especially if I don't know what's in them. I carefully opened the package (read: ripped the packing paper to shreds) and beheld a most majestical sight: the Skylanders: Imaginators Starters pack!
Most of us know that when it comes to the mob, you never, ever, ever, EVER mess with the family. And although we know this, this is exactly what developer Hangar 13 and publisher 2K are going to have us do! Let’s go back to 1968, visit the town of New Bordeaux and single-handedly bring about the downfall of the Marcano family...
I'm definitely not silent like ninja, as Ferry "Sadhonker" Adams can confirm. When I get up in the morning, I try not to wake up Ferry and be as silent as I can. But then, I close the bathroom door a little too hard, I bump against the laundry basket and lose my balance while trying to put my socks on. I think it's about time for some good old-fashioned ninja training!

As with previous installments in the series; if you don't mind dying a lot, or better yet, if you like dying a lot; this game is definitely your cup of blood-soaked tea!
Don’t you just hate it when a government takes away every bit of freedom you have and tells you what to think and feel? I know I do! Alas, this is exactly what happens in Republique, a grim tale of a dystopian future, not unlike George Orwell’s 1984 (of which I am a huge fan). Lucky for us, there are those who resist such a regime and try to make the world free once more. Let’s join them and overthrow this totalitarian state, shall we?
Ever feel like you want to be in a fighting arena? Camera’s all around to show the world your greatest moves or most glorious death? This is what it feels like to be a gladiator in the great arenas of the world of Forced Showdown. What?! You didn’t think I was talking about the real thing, did you?
BLUES AND BULLETS: EPISODE 2
Last August (yes, 2015) I started a beautiful adventure called Blues and Bullets. In August 2015, the first of five episodes of this epic noir adventure was launched and I absolutely adored! PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES: GARDEN WARFARE 2
We had a hard time selecting the appropriate category in which to put this game. Because of the sheer amount you burn through, our first idea was to put it into the 'Sir Shoot-a-Lot' category. But then again, an adventure like this can be truly called a Journey of a Lifetime!
