ODDWORLD: MUNCH'S ODDYSEE
It's been a while since we ventured into the strange and wonderful lands of Oddworld. And while it's always fun to traverse the wonderful landscapes and meet quirky characters, these trips are definitely not without danger. Munch, a lonely Gabbit, is made aware of this fact when he is captured by Vykker scientists and is experimented on. Let's see if our small hero can brave the dangers that lie ahead, shall we?
What would you get if you were to take the original arcade Donkey Kong and mix it up with a game like Golden Axe, with just a dash of Super Meat Boy? Well, ladies and gentlemen; you would "Thy Sword", of course. A few years ago indie developer GamePhase already released Thy Sword on Steam, but now Ratalaika Games published ports of the game for Xbox One, PS4, PS Vita and the Nintendo Switch. This is how I got my hands bloody; I tried out the game on the PS4.
ORI AND THE WILL OF THE WISPS
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the second game to have sprouted from the collective minds of Vienna-based developer Moon Studios who, apart from making cool games, also have to most awesomely thought-out logo. Yes, I know that's kind of beside the point , but I thought I'd just mention it. Ori and the Will of the Wisps was released on March 11, 2020 for PC and Xbox One.
BUBBLE BOBBLE 4 FRIENDS
A long, long time ago, when I was still a little Diana, I spent many hours playing Bubble Bobble on the NES. I'm talking about late 80's, early 90's here. Preferably I played this game together with my siblings. The main issue in our home was always who gets the blue dragon, because for some reason that was the favorite character of all of us. So, when I heard a new version was announced I couldn't be happier. And with the release of this game in America this week, it's definitely time to tell you more about it, don't you think?
LA-MULANA 1& 2
It's time to do some old-fashioned spelunking and digging for buried treasure. Sorry, what was that? Dangerous?! Hell no! It isn't dangerous at all... Just as long as you remember to keep an eye out for hidden deathtraps, twisting maze-like tunnels and, oh yes, the occasional wandering monster! Well, okay... admittedly, there might be some danger involved after all!
ORI AND THE BLIND FOREST: DEFINITIVE EDITION
I decided to write this review as an appetiser for the newly released Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Of course I will be writing my next review about this new game by Moon Studios, but first let's talk about their debut masterpiece.
It's time to hit the books, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! And by this, I don't mean doing a lot of studying. No, no, we're going to be, quite literally knocking the stuffing out of a bunch of literary characters! How, I hear you ask? Well, by steering a group of other literary heroes and villains through the hallowed (and very dangerous) halls of the Librarium Infinitum! Trust me; if all libraries in the world were like this one, everybody would be going...
POTATA: FAIRY FLOWER
Every now and again, a game is released that just looks too cute to pass up the opportunity to play it. So when I received a mail about the platform game Potata: Fairy Flower, I didn't even need to think twice. I'm sorry for the rest of my crew, but the opportunity to play and review Potata is mine!
During our DumeeGamer Game Afternoon last year, we had the honor of welcoming the awesome people of indie developer Roofkat. They were present to show every visitor their upcoming game Warpthough. I , Michael a.k.a Magic Mike, of course tried my luck at their booth. And I don't regret I did!
DEEP SPACE RUSH
Soooo, what do you get when a game developer played a lot of super meat boy, contra and Bro-force while drinking a tray of Red-Bull and thought by himself "Wait a minute! I can do that."??? Well, you get Deep Space Rush; an action-packed-side-scrolling-shooter/platformer with randomly generated level design, in space.... (I thought I'd just mention that, in case this wasn't obvious from the game's title).
ICE AGE: SCRAT'S NUTTY ADVENTURE
Don't you just hate it when your favorite nut accidentally falls into an ancient temple and is locked away until you complete a series of challenges? What do you mean, that's never happened to you?! Well, it's about time it did, wouldn't you agree? Lucky for us, now we can actually see what this would be like. How? Simple; by playing Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure!
In the land of Cvstodia you are trapped in an endless cycle of death after a curse, which the inhabitants have named 'the Miracle', has corrupted the land and all that live there. You must re-live your path again and again until you can cleanse the land of this evil.
HOLLOW KNIGHT - VOIDHEART EDITION
First off, I have to start and apologise to Team Cherry for checking out this game late 2019 and overlooking it when it was released for PS4 and Xbox One a year ago. So... Ari, William and David, ... I deeply apologise to you guys. And I will do whatever it takes to redeem myself in this review.
SUPER WILOO DEMAKE
How sad would you be if your dog got kidnapped? I for one would be very sad and would do anything to get my favorite canine friend back. And that's exactly what we're going to do in a super cute platform game, developed by LightUP and ported by Ratalaika Games that goes by the name of Super Wiloo Demake.
What would you do if your children were abducted by a nefarious bunch of extra-terrestrial bad guys? What do you mean, "is this a hypothetical question?". Of course it is. When have you last seen visitors from out of space kidnap a bunch of brightly colored blob children? Yesterday? Damn, what neighborhood are you from?! No wait, never mind; don't answer that question.
SELMA AND THE WISP
Selma and the Wisp is a logic puzzle game with a pretty creepy vibe, originally released on August 4, 2016 for Steam by indie developer Toucan Studio. As from May 31 of this year, gamers will also be able to enjoy this puzzle platform game on their Nintendo Switch, giving this game a portable experience. Although the game has already been out there for a few years, I haven't had the chance to play it yet. I love horror and puzzle games and thought this game had a vibe similar to Limbo (Which I loved playing). So naturally, I am very excited to finally play this title!
DEVIOUS DUNGEON 2
Devious Dungeon is back and I couldn't be happier about it! The first Devious Dungeon was such an awesome game and I absolutely loved it to pieces. So, when I received an invitation to play the sequel, I was over the moon. So put on your best armor and join me on this devious adventure!
YOSHI'S CRAFTED WORLD
Do you remember a game called Yoshi's Woolly World for the Nintendo Wii U? It was released in 2015 and, to me at least, it was the best Yoshi game I ever played! Yes, it felt a little bit clunky from time to time, but it looked so damn cute! So, naturally, I thought there could never be a better Yoshi game. But, to quote a certain famous secret agent; Never say never. Because now, four years later, there's a contender to the throne of cuteness: Yoshi's crafted world!
MOVE OR DIE
The weekend is nearly upon us; a perfect opportunity to play a party game with your friends, don't you think? Sure, you could go for another round of Fortnite, or play some Mario Party, or one of the endless multiplayer modes that seem to be a part of almost every triple A game nowadays. And while these are all excellent options of course, may I recommend a wickedly delightful party game by the hand of developer Those Awesome Guys? With that name you can't go wrong, right?
KIRBY'S EXTRA EPIC YARN
In 2011, I was so blown away by Kirby's Epic Yarn on the Nintendo Wii (Remember, that console where you had to move around a lot?). The game looked so beautiful with all the colors and everything in the world was made of yarn and various fabrics. Plus, the story was totally awesome! So, finding out that this awesome game was going to be available for my trusty Nintendo 3DS, was the best news!
MACROTIS: A MOTHER'S JOURNEY
Damn, it's hard being a single mom! Okay, okay, you can stop sniggering now. Of course I can't possibly be a single mom. This is mainly due to the fact that I'm a 6' 6" guy without even the vaguest hint of desire to become a parent. But, as it so happens, I did play a game called Macrotis: A Mother's Journey, in which I took the role of a single mom. And not just any kind of mom, no sir! This is the story of a brave little mother Bilby.
NEW SUPER MARIO BROS U DELUXE
Now, I think that most of you will agree with me if I state that Super Mario Bros has always captured the hearts and minds of Nintendo fans across the globe. One of these games was New Mario Bros U for the, as you might have guessed from the title, Wii U. For those among us who have never actually owned this platform, there is good news, because Nintendo decided to bring the game to their latest console: the Nintendo Switch!
TRINE: ENCHANTED EDITION
Greetings and salutations, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. It's always good to see so many of you reading these reviews! Today is actually a trip down memory lane for me. No, no, I will not be using the dreaded Big Red Timemachine; I will instead simply reminisce about a time when I was younger... considerably younger!
JACK 'N JILL DX
Don't you just hate it when you keep misplacing stuff and, no matter how often you manage to find it, you just end up losing it over and over again? Well, now imagine the "stuff" you lose is a loved one and you've got the premise of a game on your hands! The premise for a game called Jack 'N Jill DX, to be more precise!
BROFORCE (NINTENDO SWITCH)
The very first time I played Broforce was around March 2016, when it was one of the free PlayStation Plus games of that month. I played it together with my brother, Michael "Magic Mike" Dumee. I had never heard of the game before then and Mike suggested to play this game, because he thought it was awesome. And I must admit that he was right!
ROBBIE SWIFTHAND AND THE ORB OF MYSTERIES
Whoever said a thief never amounts to anything? In this case, a thief might just be the only one standing between us and the total destruction of all we hold dear! The thief in question is called Robbie Swifthand and he is the world's, albeit somewhat unwilling, hero in dark times. Now, to say that Robbie volunteered to save the world is somewhat of a stretch, because he just might have been tricked into going on this noble quest...
THE PATH OF MOTUS
We all love playing games, right? But how cool is it when a game could really make a difference? When, for example, developers create a game that supports a good cause? Michael Hicks wants to spread awareness about, as well as teach both resilience and empathy for and to, people that are being bullied. The Path of Motus is his tool in this noble quest.
CAPTAIN TOAD: TREASURE TRACKER
It's been almost four years since Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was released for the Nintendo Wii U. The game originated as a mini game in Super Mario 3D World, but it has since grown into a successful franchise in its own right. No wonder Captain Toad is back as a port for the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch. And the best news is that it comes with some awesome extras!
GRAVE DANGER: ULTIMATE EDITION
I feel like going on an adventure today! And, while we're at it, why not go on an adventure with three wickedly fun and witty characters? So, let me introduce you to: Date the cowboy, Elliot the wizard and Malice the reaper! Together, this terrific trio of outlaws will have to make their way through treacherous dungeons and fight hordes of evil henchmen if they want to stay alive! But this might not be as easy as it sounds, because our heroes are in Grave Danger...
Imagine this; you start up a game and the first thing you see is a planet with the Eiffel Tower hanging upside down. Next thing you know, the Eiffel Tower explodes. Now, I don't know what's happening here, but what a way to start a game!
Two years ago, Ferry "Sadhonker" Adams was pleasantly surprised by a platforming game gem about Yarny; a cute-looking creature that is, as the name implies, made entirely out of yarn. The game we're are talking about is Unravel and during this year's E3, EA proudly announced this game's sequel; Unravel Two, which was released immediately after its announcement!
Welcome to The Forgotten Lands, a magical place where all things forgotten end up and live out their lives in peace and quiet... or so it would seem. Even in this seemingly tranquil world, there are those among the forgotten things, aptly named Forgotlings, who do not agree with the ideas of the ones in charge. That is why this world needs a strong person to keep things in check. That is why this world needs an enforcer. And that, dear readers is where you come in...
DONKEY KONG COUNTRY: TROPICAL FREEZE
Ah, life on a tropical island... things just don't get any better than this! The sun, the beach, the snowflakes, the nice... blistering cold...? wait... what?! What happened to our beautiful island? It's all covered in snow and ice! Right! Who's responsible for this... this... this Tropical Freeze?!
One of the main reasons why we like to organize a retro game event once a year is to bring back that glint of nostalgia in people's eyes, when they play an 8-bit game. Everyone who was a kid in the 80's or 90's is bound to have some fond memories of at least one of the games of that era. But games created in 8-bit style are not only a blast from the past...
It's no secret; I'm a sucker for those cute looking puzzle games, especially when they're available for Nintendo Switch. So, for all the puzzle fans out there as well as for everyone who just loves an adorable character; it's time to tell you about another lovely game gem called Light Fall!
LEAGUE OF EVIL
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I have terrible news; the world is in grave peril! Evil scientists from around the world have united and have formed the aptly named League of Evil. They now have set their sights on world domination, no matter who gets in their way! Now, before you start packing up your things and moving to the most remote area you can find, or start raiding electronic stores for no apparent reason except for the fact that this is what people evidently do in the event of global catastrophe, please bear with me for a moment.
Let me start off by saying that when I first started this game, I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. Cause boy, I got myself into quite a thing! So, Octahedron started with a fun little video that immediately showed the retro arcade style that the game has to it, which I absolutely loved. But what came after was something I was truly not prepared for...
KIRBY STAR ALLIES
Who is a big Kirby fan? I am a big Kirby fan! So Friday March 16th couldn't arrive fast enough for me. Why, I hear you ask? Because of the release of Kirby Star Allies of course. I so wanted to play this happy game starring my big, pink friend Kirby.
TURTLE POP: JOURNEY TO FREEDOM
Although I love all my adventure, shooter and horror games, I'm also a huge fan of happy and colorful games. So when I saw the trailer of Turtle Pop: Journey to Freedom, filled to the brim with colors, sparkles and cuteness, I immediately knew that I needed to play this game!
DE BLOB 2 REMASTERED
Imagine the world around you was completely devoid of colors. That wouldn't be much fun, am I right? Colors just make things look a lot nicer. But what if an evil force was trying to take away all colors in the entire world? Wouldn't you do your very best to try to set things right again? Even if you were only a little blob?
GUNS, GORE & CANNOLI 2
It is once again time to release our inner mobster. So grab your guns, hat and suit and, of course, a supply of Cannoli and head back into Thugtown. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; Vinnie is back. and, in the developers' own words: this time it's personal! It is time to play Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2.
RAD ROGERS: WORLD ONE
Now, I don't know about you, but I still sometimes get the urge to fire up a good old-fashioned platform game. Usually, this means launching DosBox or equivalent and fiddling around with the settings as long as it takes to get the damn thing to work properly. Luckily, this is now a thing of the past (pun intended!), because Aalborg, Denmark based indie developer Slipgate Studios brings us Rad Rogers: World One; a old school 90's style platform game with matching gameplay and fun commentary from the games' two protagonists!
THE FORBIDDEN ARTS
The Forbidden Arts is an action-platformer game that is launched on Steam Early Access by Stingbot Games on February 7th, 2018. By releasing their game as an Early Access title, the developers can get a lot of feedback from the community so they can make changes to the game in the process. Makes sense, doesn't it? Well, let's not waste any more time and take a peek at this upcoming title.
Don't you just love it when a title tells you everything about a game? Dynasty Feud is about... "drumroll"... feuding dynasties. Rather than playing as a single character you play a dynasty of five. Each Dynasty has a certain theme like pirates or cowboys etcetera, etcetera. In turn, each character has character-specific attacks. Let's take a look, shall we?
Every kid that grew up during the 80's and 90's sure as heckfire remembers the super fast blue hero: Sonic the Hedgehog. My first Sonic game was in fact the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive and I have good memories of this time. Now, 26 years later, Sonic is back for a brand new adventure and boy, it is a grand one! So, let's put on our running shoes and try to keep up with Sonic Forces!
BUBSY: THE WOOLIES STRIKE BACK
Some of you might remember Bubsy from way back, when this cool platform game was still developed by Accolade. For Bubsy: the Woolies Strike Back, our friends from Black Forest Games got involved. It's actually the fifth game in the long-running Bubsy series. Now, we didn't hear anything from Bubsy since the last game appeared in 1996, but now he's back and ready for another adventure.
SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY
If there is one game we were all looking forward to since the release of Nintendo Switch, it has got to be Super Mario Odyssey. Especially the level where Mario runs around in a "real" city. I for one couldn't wait till release day!
"Those two are malfunctioning." - "Scrap them." And so begins the journey of two little robots that want to live. Rescue your friend and escape from the dangerous factory!
Remember when the Playstation 4 was just launched? One of the original titles for this, at the time, brand new console was a really fun game called Knack. I had tremendous amounts of fun playing this game, so when I heard about the sequel to Knack, I was so happy! I simply love Knack; he's nice, he's strong and he is awesome. Time to find out what amazing adventures he will face this time!

During my time at Screenshake 2017 last February, I met Steven Delrue from indie developer, Rusty Bolt. I was able to play a demo of his upcoming game, Revolve. At Indigo 2017, I met Steven again and managed to get my hands on a full version of the game. So let's get going and take a look at the full game, shall we?

But don't worry, if you don't own a PC or Nintendo Switch, there are more discounts coming your way. But is Snake Pass worth all the fuss?
CRASH BANDICOOT N.SANE TRILOGY
I must admit that I feel a bit dizzy on this beautiful day. This might have something to do with the amount of spinning round I did last weekend. Don't worry, I'm not taking expressionist dance classes, no sir! In fact I have been running around sunny islands, dispatching enemies left and right. So, what have I been doing exactly? Well, I've been playing the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy!
WONDERBOY: THE DRAGON'S TRAP
"When I grow up, I want to be a dinosaur!", is the absolute best answer I ever heard to the time-old question: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" And although it's not, technically speaking, a dinosaur, a dragon is close enough, don't you think?
SKYLAR & PLUX: ADVENTURE ON CLOVER ISLAND
Sometimes you just know that is about time you took a holiday! Hmmm, but where to go? Maybe an island vacation is just what the doctor ordered! I mean, come on! Skeleton knights are literally everywhere! We start our adventure at the graveyard, which is, as one might suspect, a most excellent place to meet tons of various Skeleton Knights... and kill them until they die of it!
LITTLE BIG PLANET 3
This month, Little Big Planet 3 is one of the free PS Plus games. I was so excited about that, because I have never played this game before, although I can't exactly remember why.... I just didn't. But every time I saw it in the store I thought: "I should give it a try", but for some reason I didn't. Seeing as how I can play it for free now, I seem to be all out of excuses, so let's go!
In The Swindle, you play a thief... well, actually, you play a multitude of thieves that are desperately trying to steal an AI called "The Basilisk" that Scotland Yard is currently building. This AI could single-handedly spell the end for the collective thieves' businesses, because it will turn the entire country into one big police state...

So, like any detective would, he sets out to solve the most important case he has ever worked on in his entire career: his own murder...
Legend tells us that the gods created and destroyed the world four times... No kidding, that's what they tell us. I'm not sure about their work ethics, but I do think they should have done a proper job the first time around and have saved themselves a lot of additional work! I mean, if you can't even trust the gods to get things right, who can you trust?!
At Gamescom 2016, Dutch publisher Soedesco showed us some of their upcoming games, which were all awesome by the way! One of the games shown stood out because of its simple graphic look: Wuppo. This game is created by two Dutch guys, who develop games under the name Knuist & Perzik. Since Gamescom, Wuppo has been officially released, so we think it's about time we take you on a trip through its colorful but dangerous world!
We all know the basic rules of traffic; motorized vehicles go on the road, pedestrians go on the sidewalk. But what happens when there were none of these rules whatsoever? Well, Swedish developer Landfall Games gives us an insight in the total and utter chaos that would most definitely ensue.
PAPER MARIO: COLOR SPLASH
Splash! Swoosh! Splash! I'm definitely in a good mood, because I'm painting. Red, yellow, blue, all colors you can think of, I'm using them. Yes sir! I won't leave any colorless spot unpainted, and by painting all the Toads I can save them... What? Did you think I was painting my living room in all kinds of colors? No, no; I am, of course, playing the latest installment in the ever-expanding Mario series, Paper Mario: Color Splash!
SEASONS AFTER FALL
A couple of weeks ago, Ferry "Sadhonker" Adams send me a trailer of a game called Seasons after Fall by email, with the message: "I think this is a game for you, there is a cute looking fox in it." And yes, after I saw the trailer I immediately fell in love with the fox!
We were actually introduced to the non-violent platform game Shiny during our stay at the 1C Publishing booth at GamesCom 2016. I was immediately convinced; this was one game I definitely wanted to play. I mean, come on: A game about a cute little robot that wants to help his other robot friends? Count me in!

BROFORCE!! Do I need to say more? Well actually I do, because otherwise this review would be very short and pointless and we can have that. This month, Broforce is one of the free games for PS Plus members, so me and my bro Michael “Magic Mike” Dumee joined forces and started shooting at everything and everyone in this great, mighty and awesome game!
Two heroes... that is all that stands between the universe and its total enslavement by the evil genius, Dr. Vendetta. I'd say it's about time to kick some serious alien ass!
