Before I begin, I would just like to extend my sincerest apologies for the overly long period it took us to review this game. We actually had so much fun playing Fat Princess Adventures; we almost forgot to write a review about it. So, after a couple of weeks, here it is. And what better way to start any review than by asking you, the reader, a question?

Whatís better than being a princess? No? Give up already?! Ok, Iíll tell you: Being a fat princess, of course! You can eat all you want and people canít say anything about it, because youíre the princess, right? You can have their heads chopped off if they give you any grief. This last measure gives you two advantages; one, it rids you of nagging people. And two, there will be more cake and sweets for you!

Lucky for us, this Fat Princess has more goals than just eating a lot of cake. After the events of the first game, the Legend of the Fat Princess, the Red and Blue Kingdom are now united as Great Bitten. But thereís no such thing as peace for the people of Great Bitten. The kingdom is under attack by goblins and other strange creatures, led by the bitter Queen. The Bitter Queen wants to destroy everything thatís sweet, including Princess Plump and Princess Muffintop.

Naturally, we canít have that, so the kingdom sends a party of guards. And thatís where we, the gamers, come in. Weíll have to save all the sweetness, the princesses and eventually the entire nation! Where the previous game was a 32 player, class based competitive multiplayer game, Fat Princess Adventures is a 4 player coop hack and slash dungeon crawler. And I would just like to say that I very much like this new concept for the Fat Princess series.

As a member of the party you can choose be a Warrior, a Ranger, a Worker or a Mage. But, and this is what makes Fat Princess Adventures somewhat different than other games in the genre, youíre allowed to switch between those classes at certain points in a level. You can use this to your advantage, because sometimes youíll need the brute strength of the Warrior, while in other situations you want the Workerís ability to disarm bombs or the arrows of the Ranger. And what to think of the great magic spells of the Mage?

During the game you collect coins, which you can use to buy some awesome upgrades. I like to play as the Warrior and was able to get my hands on a Flame Sword as my first major upgrade. Apart from your weapon, you can also upgrade your shield and armor. When you see the all the cool possibilities in the upgrade screen, weíre sure youíll be choosing your upgrades with a big smile on your face.

Despite of the vast array weapons and armor for sale, it can (and will) happen that you take some damage. Heal yourself by eating cakes that will appear after you destroy enemies or drink the Awesome Sauce in order to greatly increase your damage output. When you eat more cake than you need, youíll become a fat giant version of yourself and will start stomping enemies with your bare hands, which is really cool! And, if I might give you a tip: donít forget to use your special powers when your meter is full.

The greatest laugh I had with this game was while playing the game together with Ferry/Sadhonker. At various points in the game youíll come across a magic potion that, when thrown at your enemies, transforms them into weak and powerless chickens. But thereís a catch; if youíre standing to close and get the magic potions on yourself or an ally, you or your ally will also transform into said chicken. Ferry has often been turned into a chicken without having a clue as to whyÖ I must say, it was absolutely hilarious!

I will conclude this review by saying that Fat Princess Adventures is a phenomenally great game. I love the fact that you can play it local coop. The world of Fat Princess Adventures is pretty and colorful and filled to the brim with awesomeness. And when a game can put a big smile on my face, I think the developers succeeded in making a great adventure which you can enjoy for a very, very long time!
