The goal of the game is to get your love letter to princess Annette first, while deflecting the letters of other suitors.
Each player has one card in his or her hand. In each following turn you must first draw a new card. The players must now decide which of these two card he or she will play. Youíll have a list of which roles there are and how many cards there are in the game. But one or more cards will be tossed out, depending of the number of players. So you have to be careful and stay anonymous as long as you can.
You have to reveal the identity of other players to knock them clean out of the game. There are cards with powerful roles. You can use them in an early stage, but it can make you a target. You can also start with lower cards, but before you know it others have used your trust to their own advantage. So itís all about bluffing and keeping a tactical approach.
The fun part of this game is that you really canít trust anyone, because you never really know what the other players are up to , besides trying to win the game of course. And if you want canít get enough of Love Letter, there are already as much as five different versions of this game, including a Wedding Edition.
