L.A. NOIRE REMASTERED
By Rick "Herr Doktor von Brienenstein" van Brienen on November 20, 2017
Yes, ladies and gentlemen! Time to dust off your monocles. L.A. Noire is back! And in hot fashion, I might add... Cole Phelps has never looked this handsome! And neither has Los Angeles. L.A. Noire 4k remaster looks amazing! The updated textures, lighting, shadows and reflections make this game look sharp as ever! L.A. Noire is easily one of my top 10 games ever, so I was really excited to try this bad boy out!
Ahh Cole Phelps, the army man gone cop in the city of Los Angeles. Working your way from uniform to traffic detective and so on. The storyline of this game is brilliant to say the least! And being in 1947 with the classy cars and fedora hats really adds to it. Perfect! So take out your magnifying glass! It's Inspecting-time!
Who's wallet is this?
The investigation gameplay is really fun and interactive! grabbing objects, twisting them looking for serial numbers or prints. Opening doors, looking inside picture frames anything goes. But the real fun starts when you get to question suspects or witnesses. Looking at the amazing facial expressions and deciding whether they speak the truth or not! If there is something this game does absolutely perfect, is making you feel like an actual 1947 detective! I mean wow. just wow!
I think it's safe to say L.A. Noire was used as a standard for many Telltale like games. The many different outcomes whether you inspect and question witnesses correctly. The name of a Bar on the backside of a matchbook, giving you a new location to look for clues and all sorts of things like this make this one of my favorite games ever. period.
Is this a movie?
L.A. Noire has truly been remastered to perfection, as I said with the lighting and the textures. But the core element of the games are the dialogues. The full motion captured dialogues are what makes this game as good as it is! As of today I have not seen better in-game motion captured dialogues then in L.A. Noire.
Feel like a Rockstar!
The open world offers tons of things to do while you are on foot or in your trusty detective-mobile! While you are driving through the streets of LA you can respond to the LAPD dispatch radio and solve robberies or gang fights gone really bad! All in all, no need to be bored playing L.A. Noire. And if you don't really like open world games there is no need to worry! Because you can let your partner drive (fast travel) and focus mainly on the story which is, absolutely beautiful!
Alright! I think I am gonna leave my lab-coat here for a bit! This fedora suits me! Herr Inspektor is on route!
