Sometimes, it's just not your day. Hey, that happens, right? Well, sure... but if you're forced to relive exactly that day, things might get a bit frustrating. And that's exactly what a female space explorer called Selene must think after crash-landing on an alien planet fraught with dangers. Her only way out of this extremely deadly, sci-fi version of Groundhog Day is to find out what is keeping her there and break the seemingly never-ending cycle she currently finds herself in...
Outriders is a chaotic shooter made by People Can Fly and Square Enix. For me, this game seemingly came out of nowhere, which is always a nice surprise. The question is: was it really the nice surprise I hoped it would be? We will find out the answer to that question a little further on in this review. So, let's dive in!
WRATH: AEON OF RUIN
Remember when you were young and a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 was still the bees knees? Well, if you do, you'll probably also remember the iconic shooters of that age. Now, according to some, these shooters were absolutely the best games ever and have never been surpassed in terms of gameplay and fun. Especially for those among us who share this opinion, the good people at developer Killpixel and publishers 3DRealms and 1C Entertainment brought Wrath: Aeon of Ruin to the ever-expanding world of gaming!
SERIOUS SAM COLLECTION
Ah yes, the Serious Sam series; a very nice way to while away some time, running and shooting at about everything that moves and, in doing so, thoroughly decimate alien hordes bent on mankind's destruction! These games have been around since 2001, and now there's even a HD collection, featuring the first three games in the series. Time to get serious!
DESTINY 2: BEYOND LIGHT
Destiny 2 is an online coop multiplayer first person shooter which I've never played it before. Luckily, this wasn't a big problem because the expansion that we're going to talk about today, also contains a brand new tutorial, aptly named the On-boarding Experience! Here you can explore a renewed CosmoDrome, with an introduction experience designed to get new players on board faster than you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5
The first time I played an Earth Defense Force game, was when Earth Defense Force 2025 was a free game in PS plus for PlayStation 3, back in 2017. I never heard of it up till then, but I saw tons of insects to slay and several awesome weapons to slay them with. So, what's not to like, right? The latest iteration of these games goes by the name of Earth Defense 5 and is finally available as a physical edition for the first time in Europe and the US. So, are you ready for a wild ride? If yes, then let's go!
"The Earth is hungry. Its heart throbs and demands cleansing. The Earth is also thirsty..." With these ominous words we were introduced to a game called Postal back in 1997. I vividly remember playing the game on my then awesome Pentium II PC and having an absolute blast (pun intended). Postal puts you squarely into the shoes of a postal worker turned merciless psycho killer and you have one job: Kill everything that moves...
Atomicrops. I'm not sure where to start with my explanation of wat this game really is, so let's just start off with the basics. This little gem is made by Danny Wynne, Toby Dixon and Joonas Turner with Raw Fury fulfilling the publishing duties. And yes, I'm going to spoil the surprise right away; I had a great time with this game! So without further ado, let's get into the review! (see what I did there?)
The year is 2022. The world is approaching a global crisis. Fast forward to 2054 and that same world is nowhere near a nice place to be. 10 billion people living in huge, grim mega cities. Luckily for us the company Prisma comes along the give us a simple way out. The Hyper Scape!
CRYSIS REMASTERED (NINTENDO SWITCH)
Ah yes, Crysis; the game that made even high-end pc's tremble in sheer terror back in 2007. The game that introduced us to a brand new style of first person shooter games, complete with a more than awesome Nanosuit that gave us the opportunity to become invisible, gain great strength or speed, or to become virtually indestructible for a short time. Now, thirteen years later, it is finally time to return to the Lingshan Islands and be all that we can be once more!
WEST OF DEAD
A couple of months ago, I received an email from Raw Fury about a game called West of Dead. The demo of said game was available at that moment and I download it right away, because I was intrigued about this dark-looking, Western-themed game. I had a blast while playing the demo, so I was looking forward to the full game! Well, I had to wait for a bit, but the time has finally come! So let me take you on a trip to the Wild Wild West of 1888.
It was the summer holiday of 1996. I was 16 years old and our PC at home had just finished installing Duke Nukem 3D. I was just getting into playing video games back then, and this was actually my first introduction to first person shooter games and I played that game all summer long! All thanks to a developer called 3D Realms... And guess who's back in town?!
Doom is back, baby! It's been nearly four years since we got to don our demon slayer armor and decimate wave upon wave of bloodthirsty hell spawn. Today, it is time to finally get back in demon-killing mode and pick up our Praetor Suit and wide arsenal of weapons once more in order to save the world from demon domination.
VANQUISH (10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION)
Somewhere in the near future, Earth's resources are on the brink of being depleted, so man turns its eyes towards the stars. A huge colony called the SC-01 Providence is constructed by the United States of America in outer space in order to lighten the load mankind has on our planet. Naturally, there are people who want what others have and try to take it for themselves...
ZOMBIE ARMY 4: DEAD WAR
Now, being at war is bad enough, but being at war with an enemy that has seemingly unlimited numbers that just won't die properly, is nothing short of hell, wouldn't you agree? Impossible, you say? Well, not if you are one of brave heroes that fight the hordes of undead all across Europe while waging what they call: the Dead War!
The Nintendo Switch is always a unique system when it comes to handheld games. The majority of games on this platform are designed to easily be playable on the train, plane and even when lying in bed. In short, if handheld gaming is your cup of tea, it`s the perfect system. I got the opportunity to try out a new twin-stick shooter with RPG elements on the Nintendo Switch called Space pioneer.
Some gamers are part of the pro elite and master every game there is to play in the known universe. Some just can't complete even a simple level of Tetris. When playing Profane, I found out, I'm somewhere in between. I haven't played a game that was so much fun to master. Even getting past the intro boss itself was an epic challenge. And that was just the beginning of the game!
Hasta la vista, baby! Who doesn't know this famous one-liner from the Terminator movies? And besides movies, we can also enjoy the Terminator via video games. Now, there are several video games about Terminator and to be honest I haven't played a single one of them. But that's going to change, because I'm going to play Terminator: Resistance. That's right people! The brave people of developer Studio Teyon created this title. So, let's see if this game is just as action-filled as the movies are.
GHOST RECON: BREAKPOINT
The ghosts are back with a brand new adventure! This time, we'll have to explore the island Aurora to discover all the riches it has to offer. After Ghost Recon: Wildlands, I was very eager to play a new edition of Ghost Recon because that game gave me everything I could ever want from an open world shooter game and left me with a very satisfying experience. So, without further ado, let us begin!
DAEMON X MACHINA
Daemon x Machina is the latest game from the Japanese game studio Marvelous! And has been released for the Nintendo Switch on September 13. It is a third person, action-packed mecha shooter, filled with guns and big, big robots. Although I never really got too much into the whole mecha game genre, I must admit that this game looks really badass and I can't wait to start playing!
"For a time, the humans of Sera knew the illusion of peace. Until... Emergence Day." With these foreboding words, we were introduced to a completely new world back in 2006. It was a world of men and monsters... a world of friends and foes... the world of Gears of War. Now, thirteen years later, a brand new chapter in this thrilling tale emerges, and it's once again time to fight for our future!
ZOMBIE DRIVER: IMMORTAL EDITION
Goodmorning boss. I'm afraid I have bad news. I can't come into work today. Why? Well, because my car is in the shop right now. What's wrong with it? Well, there's blood and guts clogging up the radiator, the front and rear bumper are hanging on by a thread and, oh yeah, I'm having miniguns and flamethrowers installed on either side of the hood. What have I been doing? Well, boss, I could tell you, but you probably wouldn't believe me if I did...
If there is one man who knows how to kill Nazi's and thwart the evil plans of the Third Reich, it has to be William "B.J." Blazkowicz, a.k.a. Terror Billy. This hard-ass has been doing it ever since we first met him, back in 1981. Now, 38 years and 12 games later, it's time for old B.J. to, albeit involuntarily, pass the torch to his twin daughters, Jessica and Sophia...
In a galaxy not far, far away, but somehow both long, long ago as well as in the distant future, a young woman named Axo, who is the best female pilot of the empire, reaches out to everyone who will hear her last message. She's very sorry she destroyed every defense system on planet Earth, but she was under the control of an alien Entity. The only thing she can do now is to sacrifice her life and make up for everything that she did and hopefully destroy the alien entity that caused all of this misery.
Bouncy Bullets is a 3D platformer in which you jump across big colourful platforms in a very bright and just as colourful world published. The game is developed by Petite Games and published by Ratalaika Games. It was first released on July 9th 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Vita, followed by the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions. Now, I hadn't heard of this game yet, but was very excited to try it out since I love the games published by Ratalaika so far!
It has been eight years since we were first introduced to a post-apocalyptic world, battered to an within an inch of its life by an enormous asteroid and under the evil rule of a military group called the Authority. After having their plans thwarted by one man in particular, the Authority was believed to be beaten and haven't been heard from since... until now!
Waaaay back, say two years, when I was visiting the Indigo 2017 game event, my eye was caught by a coop action game called Rico. Now, being a bit of an action girl myself, naturally I was drawn to the booth of the game's developers, the Bristol, UK based studio Ground Shatter Ltd. I even had the honor to meet game director James Parker and play Rico with him. If that isn't a once-in-a-lifetime experience, than I don't know what is!
TOM CLANCY'S THE DIVISION 2
I've played the original Tom Clancy's: The Division back in 2016 and enjoyed it very much. I just loved the snowy environments of Manhattan, but I think it would also be refreshing to see this special Division team operating in another setting. So, that being said, it will not come as a surprise that I was looking forward to the second game of the series!
Over the past few years, many different Sci-fi shooters have been released. From Halo to Destiny, as well as the free-to-play competitors like Planetside and Warframe; each of these games was different in their own respect. It might've been the story that set them apart, it could also have been the overall hype that comes with the technology of the future that managed to generate massive interest over and over again for these games. And then there was Anthem, a game developed by BioWare; the creators of Mass effect and many more great gaming hits.
SLEEP TIGHT (SWITCH RELEASE)
This time of year is definitely pillow and blanket time. I'd love to curl up on the couch under a blanket with, of course, an excellent video game. Some of you might remember a video game that was released last year, which was totally into this pillow and blankets theme and, above all, really awesome. I'm talking about Sleep Tight. Back then it was only available on PC, but now Sleep Tight is back for the Nintendo Switch.
Back in September of 2002, I fired up my trusty PC to play a game called Battlefield 1942. Now, 5906 days later, I'm doing pretty much the same, only now I'm firing up my PS4 and the game I'm going to play is Battlefield V. Now, don't let the title fool you, this is not the fifth installment in the Battlefield series; it's actually the sixteenth! And after the previous game, Battlefield I, revolved around World War I, Battlefield V puts players in the middle of the second global conflict this world has ever seen: World War II.
SHADOW OF LOOT BOX
I recently received a mail from our friends of Ratalaika Games about their latest release: Shadow of Loot Box. When I saw the trailer of this FPS game, it somehow reminded me of some games where it all started with, like Doom and Wolfenstein. Shadow of Loot Box utilizes a pixel style, but it's actually completely 3D and looks more polished than the aforementioned games. Just think of the art style in Minecraft and you'll know what I mean. So I'm excited to pay this world of doom (pun intended) and damnation a visit!
CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 4
Activision tells us that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 breaks records on the first day of release with its digital PC sales. The same goes for sales in the PlayStation and Xbox Stores, where the game also set a new record in digital sales! So, there's a blasting fact for you! This does make a person very curious as to just how good the game actually is, am I right?
Here's a FULL BLAST from the past! The arcade hall, do you remember that? Pinball machines, shooter games, racing games, crane machines and Air Hockey, which is still one of my favorite games ever. It has never been such a really big thing in the '80's where I lived growing up, but thankfully I had a quite nerdy family who took me and my brother over to an arcade hall on a regular basis!
RAINBOW SIX: SIEGE
Many of you might know the Rainbow Six series thanks to Rainbow Six: Vegas and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2; two very popular games that stood the test of time. A bit later, back in 2015, the tactical shooter series finally got a new addition to the line-up, Rainbow Six: Siege. This game had a rough start, mainly due to bad server support, but luckily these problems were all fixed pretty quickly!
GIFT OF PARTHAX
Wouldn't it be awesome to be a wizard? I would love to cast spells. Every time I start with a game where I can select a character, I always select the magic class, though I know I will eventually exchange it for a warrior class. (I just like to have the option of close combat, when things get nasty) Nevertheless, I'm still waiting for my invitation for Hogwarts. But in the meantime it can't do any harm to have some additional practice, am I right?
SUPER DESTRONAUT DX
Hello readers, long time no speak! You might wonder why it's taken so long for me to talk to you guys again, but don't worry; there's a perfectly good explanation. As it's currently 2000 degrees in Holland I just had to get away from it all, so I bought a ticket and lifted off. TO SUPER DESTRONAUT DX BABYYYYY! Haha, you guys fell for it didn't you? Actually thinking I was going to head outside for once, pathetic. But yeah let's dive right into it!
Doesn't it make you feel all fuzzy inside when you think back at your childhood? Being the lead character in your own fantasy stories, playing with your toys and of course building pillow forts to fight off monsters! Well, that last one was more than enough inspiration for the people at We are Fuzzy to create the game Sleep Tight.
To be honest, I had never heard about this game, until Diana "Dumeegamer" told me about it and asked me if I would be willing to write a review about it. Well, if a developer states: "Why should war be hell when it could be fun?", how can I possibly say no?
Fruits are good for you, right? Well, to be honest, my opinion on fruits has drastically changed over the last few days. I think they're tough, smart and a bit dangerous from time to time. Wondering why I feel this way? Just keep reading and you will find out.
FEAR EFFECT SEDNA
Independent developer Sushee teams up with publisher Forever Entertainment and releases Fear Effect Sedna as a third entry in the series, as well as a kind of reboot in terms of gameplay and style. Luckily, the series protagonists are all there! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; Hana, Rain, Deke and Glas are back in business! Let's see how they do, shall we?
ONE MORE DUNGEON
Yes, the game I'm going to tell you about is actually called One More Dungeon. That's cool right? My Mom: "Are you playing videogames again?" Me: "Oh please, let me just finish one more dungeon?" My Mom: "Oh, that's all right, honey. But after that, it's done." And me with my super sweet voice: "Okay, mommy." (Mwoohaha!)
SOLDIERS OF THE UNIVERSE
What would you do if you father died? Or, to be more precise; if he was murdered by terrorists? What if you had the weapons and the right organization to back you up? It would be excruciatingly hard not to take revenge, am I right?
TANNENBERG (EARLY ACCESS)
A couple of years ago, Developers Blackmill Games and M2H gave us the beautiful new WWI Shooter, Verdun. This game put gamers from around the world squarely in the muddy and blood-soaked trenches of France, in particular in the Verdun area, after which the game was called. The war-torn landscape was challenging to navigate and danger lurked around every corner. If you haven't yet read my review of Verdun, you can do so here. Now, about 2 years later the devs have given us a first glimps of the new WWI shooter they are creating for us: Tannenberg.
STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 2
A lot has been said about Star Wars Battlefront 2 already, most of it not so good. But what about the game itself? Our very own Alex dusted off his trusty light saber and started exploring this vast galaxy...
Aaaahh.. the smell of burning worms, the dreaded water and the absolute madness going on everywhere on the battlefield. Worms Battlegrounds is free in this month's PsPlus+ and that makes me a happy, happy man!
CALL OF DUTY: WWII
The year draws to a close so, naturally, it's time for a new Call of Duty game. Many people called this part the return to the original series, because it returns to where the series began: World War II. No Exo suits, no wall running or double jumps. Only you, your team and the single-most deadly conflict the world has ever seen.
WOLFENSTEIN: THE NEW COLOSSUS
Exactly 1257 days after the New Order was established and 907 days after the Old Blood was spilled, there is a new boss in town! And what a boss it is, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! So come with me as I take a stroll through Nazi infested America and try to spark the biggest revolution this world has ever seen. Yes, it is time to, once again, take on the role of William "B.J." Blazkovicz, a.k.a. "Terror Billy" and save the world from Nazi scum in Wolfenstein: The New Colossus!
ROGUE TROOPER REDUX
Back in 2006, the gaming world was elated by the release of a game called Rogue Trooper. Eleven years later, Rogue Trooper is back! So it's time to flip the couch on its side, put on my helmet and enter the dangerous world of Rogue Trooper Redux!
Yes, my friends, it is time to dish out some jystice. Sometimes it is good to be jydge, jyry and execytioner. 'When is this a good thing?' I hear you ask? Well, now is actually the perfect time to be just that. Why? Because we're going to play the latest game by 10Tons, the talented team of people that previously brought us Crimsonland and Neon Chrome. It is time to decide who gets to live and who gets to die... Let's play Jydge!
Welcome to Rengkok; a place for outcasts of society. A place where people say all your dreams can come true, but where they are more likely to be crushed into oblivion. The year is 2091 and dominion over mankind by HEAVEN, the world's leading virtuality company, is at an all time high. About time somebody upset the balance a tiny bit, don't you agree? And guess what? That someone... is you!
We're flying high! We're flying high into the sky! Oh, I'm sorry, I let myself get carried away for a little bit. But boy, do I feel pumped and excited! Why, you ask? Because I was chosen, no, destined to play Lawbreakers for Dumeegamer.com. So let me take you on this fast-paced thrill ride!
Are you ready for some old school twin stick shooter action? If you are, then suit up and come with me as we explore the dungeons of Cryptonia! As the royal guard, it will be our task to retrieve the royal treasure, as well as Cryptonia's princess, both of which have been taken by "a mysterious and malevolent force". Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's time to be the knights our kingdom needs and defeat the many evils that the dark depths of said dungeons have in store for us... It's time to play Iron Crypticle!
KILLING FLOOR 2
We have some new blood, here at DumeeGamer.com. It is still all very hush hush, so we can't reveal all details yet, but we can tell you that his first name is Jef. And, as a bonus, he took it on himself to write a review about one of the monthly free PS Plus games: Killing Floor 2. So the new blood is going to spill blood!
SHADOW WARRIOR 2
The world is once again under threat from demon armies and there is only one man who can save us now. Armed to the teeth with an array of firearms and extremely sharp blades, he sets out to vanquish the demon threat and redecorate the place with guts and blood while he's at it. His tongue is just as sharp as his sword and his moves as smooth as those of a much younger David Hasselhoff. I'm talking, of course, about the incomparable Lo Wang; vanquisher of evil and king of one-liners! So let us pick up our katanas and return... to the Wang cave!
Okay, boys and girls, listen up! You'd better buckle up, because we're going to the farthest reaches of space in order to do what we Scrappers do best: Collect scrap! Let's not fool ourselves; this will be a dangerous and arduous journey, and some of you will be homesick and start crying for your mommies and daddies. But, if you are tough enough to take it, the rewards will be unimaginable. So, please sign on the dotted line to prove that you are an idio. that you have what it takes!
During our visit to last year's GamesCom, we visited the Bethesda booth, were we saw the press presentation of their, then still upcoming, game: Prey. We were blown away by its amazing graphics and creepy atmosphere, but what about the gameplay and the story? Well, that's what I had to discover, because I was the lucky one of the DumeeGamer crew to review Prey!
DRAWN TO DEATH
What did you do back at school when you were bored during class? I remember mostly doodling in my notebooks at times like that. Imagine you could view your sketches from your days at school again. Wouldn't that be great?
RED BARTON AND THE SKY PIRATES
I sure hope you guys don't have a fear of heights, because it's time to take to the skies and fight for our freedom! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the kingdom of Diamondia is in trouble; contrary to his predecessors, the new king of Diamondia has no love for peace and quiet... So trouble is brewing on land, at sea and in the sky!
GHOST RECON: WILDLANDS - GETTING AROUND
Do you want to travel in style during your adventures in Ghost Recon: Wildlands? You can walk around of course, but the map is really big and will only expand as you progress through the game. So, to spare your poor feet, you might want to consider using one of the many vehicles you will come across in the Wildlands. Let us be your guide!
GHOST RECON: WILDLANDS
Ghost Recon: Wildlands is an open world tactical shooter that revolves around a group of US Special Forces, also known as "Ghosts". These Ghosts are men and women that operate in areas where using a normal army is inadvisable and would not get the desired results. This time, the ghosts have to go to Bolivia, where a cartel by the name of "the Santa Blanca Cartel" has seized control...
GHOST RECON: WILDLANDS OPEN BETA
Last weekend, gamers from around the globe were able to join the open beta of Ghost Recon: Wildlands. I was very curious to see for myself exactly how wild these lands were going to be. So join me on this great adventure!
KILLING FLOOR 2
Last week, a very important package arrived at our DumeeGamer HQ. You see, Ferry “Sadhonker” Adams wanted to try Tripwire Interactive’s gore-filled shooter, Killing Floor 2. Not only for review purposes but also, of course, to have a really good time while shooting everything that moves until it stops doing so. But, unfortunately for him, I was the first to open the mailbox. I saw all kinds of zombies and weapons on the cover and got really excited. So I hatched an evil plan and sent a slightly bewildered Ferry to a local pub for a few pints. With him out of the way, I started playing Killing Floor 2 myself! Mwoohahahaaaa!
Are you looking forward to playing Titanfall 2? I surely did! I was so excited about Titanfall 2 having a single player story. I like to play multiplayer from time to time, but I absolutely love a good single player campaign. So I’m very happy to be able to tell you all about this storyline, which I think completes the experience and really brings the game to life!
The Great War... a dark period in history that not a lot of us nowadays have witnessed for themselves. Four years of suffering and unimaginable hardships that cost the lives of roughly 20,000,000 men, women and children. For the first time, war was fought on such a grand scale. It was called the war to end all wars...
GEARS OF WAR 4

Body parts and brains
Blood on the floor
We've been here before

Sabotage enemy strongholds, decimate their troops and scrounge up all the resources you can carry. It's time to defend your homeland. It's time for Homefront: The Revolution.
Overwatch is the new game from Blizzard Entertainment. This time around, they've chosen to make a Multiplayer First Person Shooter, which I think turned out really nice! Normally I'm not that into FPS games, because they tend to bore me to death really quickly, but with Overwatch this is definitely not the case!
JUST CAUSE 3
The beautiful country of Medici is in a sorry state. A general by the name of Sebastiano Di Ravello has taken over leadership of the land and is forcing the citizens to do his bidding. We can't have that, can we now? So pick up your favorite firearm and join our Just Cause.
May 2016 marks the return of one of my favorite first person shooter series of all time: Doom. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the time has finally come for us to, once again, don the guise of the Doom Marine (or Doom guy, as he was called years back) and kick some demon butt and break some demon faces!
Over the past couple of days, I’ve been roaming the monster-filled halls of a giant towering structure known as the Ziggurat. Now, you might not have heard of this arena of horrors, but being a fledgling Daedalon sorcerer, studying at the Greyhorn Citadel, I have. So let's get down to business!
Here I am, once again, to tell you more about Battleborn, because the wait is finally over; Battleborn is finally released. I had a try-out at Gamescom last year, a month ago I experienced a full four hour session at the 2K studios in the Netherlands and we tried out the game at home during the open beta two weeks ago. So, is there more to tell?
April 21st marked the official release of Black Forest Games' Run-and-Gun platform game: Rogue Stormers, a game we first saw a couple of years ago under a different name. The date was August 15, 2014 and the name we first saw this game under was Dieselstörmers... Let's see what has happened since then, shall we?
Two weeks ago, I paid a visit to the Dutch 2K Headquarters in Breda, The Netherlands and played a few rounds of Gearbox Software and 2K's upcoming title: Battleborn. I ended my article about this awesome trip with the phrase that I just couldn’t wait till I could play Battleborn again. Luckily for me, this moment came much earlier than I expected!
Hmmm, let's see... a third person shooter / action-adventure in which you not only get to shoot bad guys, but also get to control time. And it comes with its own TV show! I mean, come on; what's not to like?!
Please pay attention, ladies and gentlemen. What do you mean: “Why?” I’ll tell you why: Super Earth is under attack! Our whole way of life is being threatened from all sides. If that's not enough reason to enlist in the armed forces, I don't know what is!
It is, once more, time to return to the post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland and fight for your very survival. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this month marks the return of one of the most beloved 'post-apocalypse' game series ever: Fallout.
